I just watched this movie for the first time tonight. I thought the coughing kid on the phone might have asthma or some similar respiratory issue due to pollution. This is only in keeping with the theme of the kids in the theater wanting adults to take responsibility for problems in society. Did anyone else watch this? I just finished season 2 yesterday and I didn't understand if the ending was supposed to be a cliffhanger or just a punchline! Isn't it great?! One of Ken Russell's best. I finally figured it out. It was Race With the Devil. Fun Times For Swingers is one of the ones I rewatch most often but it's more for the dialogue than the mystery itself. Unknown Soldiers is a good one, that woman who drove around sneering at the other soldiers should have won an award because she really sold the part of being a villain. And Frost wears an Atlanta Braves cap to the gun shop for some reason. The episode where the woman is up on a ladder hammering on the defective burglar alarm, the way she delivered her line, "I'm trying to get some bloody sleep!" The episode with the glass factory robbery when Frost rolls the bowling ball. I'm watching this now on Shudder and I swear to God right at the beginning I thought, "this reminds me of the movie with the three people screaming and rolling around in a pond." Which I now remember after seeing your post was Prey. The weird thing is that I thought of it before Barry Stokes showed up. So yeah, the setting and tone are very similar from the get go. I like your list of films in this subgenre. Some I've seen, and some I need to see! If anyone's still reading this board, I recommend I Am A Ghost to fans of this film. I watched it for the first time when I was 15. 45 now and still a huge fan. The entire movie could be a dream. The camera zooms into the ear at the beginning and out of Jeffrey's ear as he's napping at the end. View all replies >
