"Feminazis." Seriously? You're using Rush Limbaugh words from the late 80s? You're an idiot. In both previous trilogies the second film did WAY worse than the first. The Last Jedi had the smallest drop off from the first episode of any of the three trilogies. I agree with much of the other stuff you said, but facts is facts, yo. Well, it all worked out in a 1990s arthouse movie sort of way. Had it worked out like a 2017 Disney owned flick, we would have River come back from the dead and become the biggest star of all time and get some lifetime achievement award presented by all the actors he inspired and brought to you by Mickey Mouse. Off-topic: How do you know when a new post is made on a forum? Like when I posted here yesterday, you must have been notified a post was made, right? Or did you just stumble across this forum? I really REALLY hope Amazon never takes this place down, as it's the only thing remotely like the IMDb boards were and also acts as a bit of an archive for them (which is why I'm worried Amazon will send in the cease and desists). In better news, I have since shown her Stand By Me, My Own Private Idaho and Explorers and SBM became one of her all time favorites and My Own Private Idaho literally became her VERY favorite movie of all time. And yes, she admits his acting and charisma is a big part of her love for those films. So, even if they haven't heard of him, people in their twenties, once they see him, get exactly what us Gen X types are going on about. It's not even in a realm where it could wreck the original. This isn't The Force Awakens. The sequel more than stands up on its own, although the original is better. I'd say the book -- bestselling book of 1986 and 2nd bestselling book of the 1980s -- probably had something to do with the "saga becoming so huge." I like Tim Curry's Pennywise better, but I like this version of IT better. Neither one even touches the book, which is probably my favorite of all time. My username came from someone accidentally typing "sloopy" instead of "sloppy" over and over again like 20 years ago. To the poster asking if anyone here knew each other prior to here: Is everyone using the same name? I was Sloopydrew at IMDb. I posted all over the place. Literally thousands of posts over the nearly two decades. Of course IMDb oftentimes purged those posts, leaving me with something like 300 at the time they shut down. I'm here, so all is well. Now, if I wasn't here? We'd have problems. ;) Dude needed to get away from his mom and dad. So he found his turtle entourage (maybe featuring Turtle) and did so. I'm guessing he wanted to see the community his dad drew for him. Speaking of communities, I miss IMDb forums something awful. Anyone else? His movies are awesome. Have more to say, but not sure if this is really archiving IMDb's boards. View all replies >
