I never really played the later ones on modern consoles, but it looks they wanted to have the games reach a different target audience by mixing up the game play styles. You're always going to lose some interest after making so many sequels, you're either shunned for taking it in a disliked direction or criticized for not being bold and fresh. It will be interesting to see what happens with Capcoms planned RE2 remake. I just watched the movie on Netflix and have to agree he absolutley nailed the character. I thought the script was funny and not too over the top on the drama front, certainly a movie i'll be revisiting again. I was pleasently surprised when I finally got around to renting Tremors on VHS back in the day, the cover made me prepare myself for B-grade material but this is a pretty top notch monster horror comedy. I'm not sure if it has enough of a following to be considered a cult movie though. As a teenager I found playing the first two Resident Evil games in the dark pretty creepy. The music and sound effects really nailed the atmosphere, great games! I too would shy away from the two most well known albums for the sheer amount of times i've heard the tracks on those albums (however I still love both). My top picks would be Wish You Were Here for the magnificence of Shine on You Crazy Diamond, and then work backwards starting from Meddle which is my favourite period for the band. After just rewatching this classic horror movie I would have thought audiences in the 80s would have been all over it. I mean it has the great cast of Re-animator (plus Ken Foree!) with the crew delivering a healthy does of gore, cheese ball laughs, and well put together practical special effects. What's not to like? It was a fairly by the numbers sequel, however as someone who enjoys a bad horror flick, I found enough here to at least enjoy it as a popcorn fodder outing. Without writing any major spoilers, the opening plane scene should have been scrapped, and the reveal about Samara's lineage was right out of the big book of horror movie cliches. Having said that I liked the idea of having the tape changing/revealing more, even if the technical explanation was inane. So if you managed to sit through the American Ring 2 and thought "I could watch another sequel", this isn't that much worse. If the programmer working on the site wishes to continue further archival of imdb boards for titles not already accessed, using the Internet Archives Wayback Machine (https://archive.org/) would be a (slow but) viable option, just incase it wasn't already considered! It looks like there is decent momentum building :) If people keep sharing links to moviechat on other social websites not only will it let more people know that this place exists but it will improve the google search results. It's good to see these boards up to replace them! View all replies >
