Just as Reese says, he was being systematic. Just because he can kill people with his hands doesn't mean it's still not more efficient to have weapons. It's still an advantage. He's not looking for a challenge, he's looking to complete his mission. What? Those things aren't mutually exclusive. Stunts don't make the movie, it's the culmination of the script, directing, and acting and story. And besides, the vehicle and crane chase scene reeked of CGI too, the same uncanny fakeness that plagued this time period. T3 is sub par. Yes, it's better than the other entries, but it's still not good. You can't look at the other proceeding ones and go "Look, those suck too, so therefore T3 is good!" That's not how any of this works lol It "hasn't been topped" because EVERYTHING after T2 is so heavy handedly trying to shoehorn itself into the franchise. T1 and T2 were truly groundbreaking and about the story and filmmaking. T3 and beyond were just trying to stretch to make up reasons to exist in order to continue the franchise. You can almost hear the writers clicking their keyboards and pitching their ideas while watching T3 and beyond. This wasn't the case with he first two. Yeah, unless I'm mistaken, the Manhatten project and the development of the bomb was the meat of the movie. It showed that. Not that I should need to do a breakdown of the plot, but it's not about the atomic bomb. It's about Oppenheimers development of it, and the aftermath of it from HIS point of view and that of Strauss. Your analogy to Einstein is WAYYYYY off. Because the biggest chunk of the movie is Oppenheimer's journey and struggles in the development of the bomb and how it affects him professionally and personally. There was plenty of "mentions" of it. Nah, no respect. Here's a guy who wasn't smart enough to realize blind loyalty wasn't going to get him anywhere. Well...yeah. This is just how fictional characters work.... They're written to fit the story they're trying to tell. That's low hanging fruit. EVERYONE knows how fucked up that story became. I'm not talking about unrealistic tropes. I'm talking about the inconsistencies between films regarding the durability of a T800 a normal firearm. And I even acknowledge in my OP that it's not really T1s fault, seeing as they didn't have the foresight of how T2 was going to be written You're really going to tell me you don't think Cameron (or really anyone) is capable of writing Reese and Sarah out of that situation?? Really? Just because the proceeding ones were absolutely shit, doesn't mean we forgive this one for also being shit. That's a nitpick. All he was saying is that it either will or it won't and he couldn't tell you for sure. It was a tongue in cheek turn of phrase. Sort of like taking bets on it is "gallows humor." View all replies >
