I'm old enough to remember no options at all - places where smoking was permitted everywhere. I was so glad when that changed. I'm old enough to remember people smoking everywhere, including in hospitals, and it still grosses me out. Not only is beauty in the eye of the beholder, people on this planet smoke at the nurses' station, just like humans did in 1960! What a coincidence! Where is Everybody is on now. I like how they show the character's brains and resourcefulness. He keeps fighting the fear, and even thinks it's all a dream at one point. Makes sense, considering who he is. Was that an on-purpose nap, or one of those conked out in the chair ones I know all too well? :-) Hi, all! I'll be here off and on - gotta do chores, and am "cheating" with the Dr. Who marathon, as well. Watching The Execution now. He really was versatile, and one of those actors who was not vain about having started as a handsome leading man -- he sunk his teeth into character roles. TCM was showing the short film of The Telltale Heart, and I tried to figure out where else I'd seen the actor playing the young man before, without clicking the "info" button on the remote. I had to look. Now, THIS is a young-looking Joseph (he was 45): https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BM2Q5M2MyODItYWViZi00NTY0LWJlMDAtZTFkNjIxMTczOWUyXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTcxMDM5MDQ@._V1_.jpg And for a really different look, how about his role as the Duc D'Orleans, in Marie Antoinette: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f7/1c/04/f71c04dbed1fdd51f7a87b6681e81db3.png "Makes you wonder if the Brady Bunch writers were fans of this episode." LOL! Does anyone name kids Marsha anymore, or it is out of style now? I grew up with some Marshas (I'm in my 60s, from the heyday of Susans, Nancys, Debbies, Patricias, Marys, Cathys and Lindas). I just came back to say "Marsha! Marsha!" Climb off it, Marsha! Let's think happy thoughts, folks. I love the parrot saying "Nut!" to him. Sorry, bird, that nut can't reach the nuts. I agree. But, it occurred to me that a judgemental guy like that would think that the life of a person that short would not be worth living. And, as he said, he seems to think it would render them unable to use technology and other conveniences. That kind of bigotry (and not thinking things through!) fits the character. I was thinking of size issues, actually! Four O'Clock is a fitting follow-up to The Little People. I sense a potential theme -- Last Night of a Jockey should come next (but it doesn't). :-) Dead Man's Shoes is one I like. I was watching an episode of Perry Mason a few weeks ago, and it used the jazzy score often used for these noir-ish, gangster TZ episodes. Me, too. If given a choice, I'll take cooking over cleanup, especially if meat is involved. I agree, especially if someone else did the cooking and cleanup! Too bad -- now it's a roast! Probably not. I often whistle softly without even thinking about it -- don't know if that would count in this wager. I like The Silence. Besides seeing Franchot Tone and Cyril Delevanti, I like the fact that it's one of the few (maybe the only?) TZ episode with no supernatural elements -- just human beings messing up their own lives.
