We don't know what caused it, but it is interesting... When Strickland was interviewing Elisa and Zelda, he asked how she got the scratches. He asked if her vocal chords were cut. Zelda said that Elisa mentioned that she was born with them. Could be a lie, but it is interesting that Elisa was found in a basket in water with the scratches. Well before they busted him out, he was on the verge of passing out due to Strickland torturing him and very injured. When they actually busted him out, the scientist told them that he needs that medicine frequently and also to maintain a 5 to 7% salinity level in the water he was going to be in. So while yes, Elisa was keeping him because she developed feelings for him and she was being selfish, part of it was also to nurse him back to optimal health. They needed the water level to rise enough so that he could be released into a larger body of water to go back home to South American waters. But like most people said, I'm sure they could have found another area to release him into water without needing to wait for rain. Well in the change room they did tell him that they would release him that night into the water I think. Also, he probably thought that the creature was released already and wanted to take a jab at that confidence that Strickland always had about him. That is why he was laughing when he told him that it was the cleaners. Strickland was always looking down at others for being weak or unimportant so this was a chance to teach him a lesson. I guess I must be in the minority, but I liked Ramsay. Even thought he was sick, he didn't budge for anyone else. Just followed his own sick thinking, could not be corrupted. View all replies >
