The flashback with a pre-Pennywise IT sounds like something they could open the 2nd movie with. There are also some amazing moments from the book they can put in the 2nd movie, like a flashback of the fire at the Black Spot (which was at least mentioned in the first movie) and maybe even do a version of the cut scene from the start of the book where the teen drowns as Pennywise looks on from the shadows (one of the creepier moments in the entire book) I think both the first part of the miniseries and the movie are equally great (if you ignore the adult sections, which are cheesy as hell for the most part). Tim Curry's performance in the miniseries is iconic and can't be beaten. Though it was refreshing to see the way Bill SkarsgÄrd played a sort of 'updated' version of the character. Both are scary in their own way! Tim makes the miniseries genuinely unsettling in places, and you truly believe the kids are scared of him. Certain scare scenes in the miniseries are also iconic in themselves, like the Eddie scene where the shower heads attack him and Pennywise comes out of the drain. Tim's voice and laugh are also amazing. Though the whole cast for part 1 do a stellar job. The casting of the kids was as perfect as the movie. The two areas the movie easily beats the miniseries is humour and emotion. The movie was a lot funnier than anyone was expecting! Like when all the guys are just staring at Bev like she's an alien from another world. :p and Richie's dialogue is funny, unlike in the miniseries (and, indeed, the book) where he is mostly annoying. I also really liked the way they did the Ben/Bev relationship. Didn't the Fukunaga script cut Stan completely and have Mike working in his father's burger joint? Those are two things immediately worse than the 2017 movie... Anything I hear about that old version makes me happy they didn't shoot it. Yeah it was bad for Fukunaga to have to leave the project and all that, but we ended up with something decent. :) I think Chris Pratt simply has to play Ben. Though you can't then have Bryce Dallas Howard as Bev because...well duh. :p I have to say Jessica Chastain is the no.1 choice. Even the young actress who plays Bev wants that to happen, so I'd say it makes perfect sense. So my list would be - Bill: Joseph Gordon Levitt Ben: Chris Pratt Bev: Jessica Chastain Mike: Jason Mitchell Eddie: Aaron Paul or Toby Maguire(?) Richie: Matt Smith Stan: Shia LaBeouf (you know this to be true...:p) Also! Henry Bowers: David Harbour Audra Denborough: Karen Gillan (why not? :D ) View all replies >
