They averaged about five people per theater on Thursday May 16. They are charging full price for tickets, except for the Tuesday discount by large chains. How long do they think they can keep showing this in 2,700 theaters? By contrast, the AMC theaters are showing each Spider-Man movie three times per day on Mondays through Thursdays for $5 plus tax. The two early evening shows are near sellouts, in decent size theaters. The 2,700 theaters are not going to make much from concession sales for Star Wars, when they are only getting five people or less per show.
