It's very underwhelming and a gigantic fall from the grand majestic thematically rich original. Dalton has this big dumb grin on his face. Which makes absolutely no sense considering the character is supposed to be so depressed he is suicidal. Absolutely. It kept me wondering throughout, why the hell is he grinning?! The fight scenes indeed were lame. ^^^Absolutely perfect review of this downright pretentious movie made by some amateurish 'style-over-substance' wannabe director. The movie's abrupt & senseless ending ruined it. Ok, its understood why John got pissed off after learning that the Mom is 42; 42 is not a good age for conceiving and most women face complications in pregnancy after 40 and it really turned out that way as she delivered a dead baby. But then, What about Lib? How was John going to impregnate her? What's the meaning of putting her in a glass shell full of water? And what were those other women who were cocooned ? If they were cocooned for reproduction, then why take trouble all the way by dating women and keep having sex with them until they conceive? Why not just kidnap and cocoonise 'em? I think the writers just didn't know how to end it and ruined the movie completely. So lame! I agree, this movie badly needs an edited version, cutting down some lengthy & boring parts especially those with Jared Leto's. That particular lengthy scene where he studies the newly born replicant and then kills her as he talks long boring pretentious philosophical nonsense was cringe-worthy as hell. Denis Villeneuve must have thought he is trying to give some philosophical touch; whereas the movie is better off as raw as the original. Denis even failed at achieving the Industrial Neo-Noir-esque art direction for which the original was known for. It felt somewhat lacking, appearing more like a formality than capturing the gothic, dark-retro, and techno-chaotic essence of the future. The AI and surrogate sex worker concept was ripped off from 'Her'. This is what you do to such a landmark movie's sequel? The best part was Stelline's lab and memory designing. Those scenes were very creative. I think you got quite rattled with something that thwarted your delusional beliefs and then went searching for something to prove your nonsense and then came up with this lousy comment. I know your IQ is a single digit number but am writing this for others who read this thread: That scene starts with Teddy's eyes closing and ends with Teddy's eyes opening. So by this transition, we know its a dream. By the way, did you see any close up of Teddy's eyes opening before Cave Lady waking him up? No. Neither does that happen when he went to sleep. This movie is going to Rock! Probably the Queen laid some eggs when she boarded Sulaco and before attaching the crews. She was a smart bitch. Later when everyone went to sleep, the eggs may have sensed slow hearbeats/breathing and then released the facehugger. Or we have to put Bishop in a grey area. Even though he was a good robot, he still had protocols and carried some egg samples for submitting to the company. This is the best one can think of! Absolutely agree with you! ^ Butthurt Idiot who's actually the desperate one to prove his delusional beliefs by ignoring clear logic. Your parents must've been repenting on your birth.
