What is a joke or situation from the show that has stuck with you? A thought I considered as the film progressed. Spoilers about the ending. A thought I had about Jerrys Friend/Assistant/Daytime Guardian Billy Cole Could you take a charged laptop out in the woods middle of the night and watch this alone? Subtle touches that rewards those rewatching What Three Episodes would you choose to show a newcomer to the series that represents The Gangs typical dynamic? Netflix Special Who is an actor, where no matter how bad the movie is, they are still great in it? Whats the last cheap movie you took a chance and purchased but it turned out to be a decent movie? If you try it out let us know! Im curious as to what time during the film you begin to feel uneasy and if you actually finish it alone in those woods. Remember, my scenario has you sitting on some log no cover when you watch it, only light coming from the laptop shining upon you. You break the rules if you are just lazily laying within a tent as the movie plays. Thats not the same experience. You gotta be exposed as you watch. That would be a good one. But the dark woods play a major role in this film. Besides at the time I thought of this scenario, I lived in an old house partly enveloped with woods right behind it. And those woods felt eerie as if someone was watching you. I may as well have been in the cabin! xD Im just kidding, that cabin was very secluded in the movie. The old house I was in did have other homes nearby, but they werent as close to the woods as it was. But would you fall asleep alone, in the woods, with this movie playing? That coffee was ever so good, and was shocked to find that was a part of this ice creams flavor! Publix brand Frozen Yogurt called Expresso Chip, its rare because it has real coffee in it and this coffee is called "Santas White Christmas" it was a coffee that got bought out and then shut down for awhile but it was then rebranded and redistributed by the new owner with different packaging. But it was some of the best coffee I have had and that ice cream was exceptionally special and it was actually healthy! https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Publix+Premium+Frozen+Yogurt%2C+Espresso+Chip+&t=newext&atb=v262-1&iax=images&ia=images You mean a portable DVD player that has its own little screen attached? If its running on a battery that could work. I dont think we will get a response from the user and old posters but I will also add that YES this film still holds up. I admit it was quite a family favorite for us kids growing up. But, during a trip recently, I found a video store in Louisiana that was able to order me a copy of this movie on DVD (region free copy). I wanted my Fiance to watch it with me as I mentioned this film to her on several occasions as being an old favorite of mine. She watched it for the first time as an Adult and she said she enjoyed it! Christopher Lees villain, the Black Knight Kato is still intimidating and downright menacing in his dialogue alone xD. The storyline and adventure itself has enough entertainment for an adult. It still has a childhood charm for me, but rewatching as im older now I appreciate different aspects of the movie even more. The cinematography is really good, the music is good and that flute music is ethereal at times here is that flute song for the film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUdp3ODwYQY(I told my fiance we should have that flute music at our wedding xD) , the main boy actor is pretty good and his friend in the film is Christian Bales first movie appearance! I like how they set up the looming threat of Kato (Christopher Lee) and that the characters Mio meets speak of him in hushed whispers and the land gives an eerie wind when he is mentioned as if the land of faraway is a character itself trying to warn Mio of the danger. Also the world and characters they meet have this lived in feel to it. If you need some reference, know how The Neverending Story is a kids film yet still holds up when you rewatch as an adult? Thats the best comparison I can give you. Neverending Story is more epic, but the adventure in Mio in the Land of Faraway is still worth seeing. https://moviechat.org/tt0093543/Mio-min-Mio/61a7b9d3f5b6c464a57ff2b9/For-those-of-you-struggling-to-find-this-movie I still watch it, been buying them on DVD since I didnt have any streaming services for years. Ive been disappointed that they havent released season 15 on DVD yet and they are making season 17 at this point. What gives? Luckily I do have streaming now and I have watched the seasons I dont own. There is still entertainment to be had and the show is still funny. In my opinion the very best episodes are all the episodes of Disc One of season 5. I have watched and rewatched that disc so many times. And I have found good episodes in every season. Not all can be said to be amazing but Im still into the show After reading yalls back and forth it got me thinking. Costigan would act and think less like a cop if he has less experience as a cop so its not so hard to hide. He knows those type of people from growing up around them, he had family connected to them, him being washed out of the academy could be hand-waved as saying "see you arent like them you are one of us". Of course the father-figure aspect of Frank helped lull him into wanting to take in Costigan. To answer the other guys question, sometimes people are placed undercover because they can fit or hide the best. Plenty of regular people are recruited by the police to simply spy or feed information. Now deep undercover you would reckon it would be someone that is a cop. Costigan shown he wanted to be a cop, and he fit all the parameters of being someone who Frank might trust, so Queenan recruited Costigan. Also keep in mind he washed out of the academy which is what they needed! Frank had too many spies in the precinct and the cops knew it so they couldnt use a cop. And any FBI special agent that randomly shows up to try and infiltrate Franks gang would take YEARS and still not be trusted. So Billy Costigan was their best bet to get someone in there. I agree with you about the "one time watch for me". At least with Wrecked I have thought of it from time to time and am considering watching it again soon. There were some disturbing elements to this movie and I even considered for awhile that the penthouse owner had set the thief up to watch him suffer. (Ive read here that others thought this as well). Also you have that giant "self portrait" of the penthouse owner where his face is surrounded by an orgy. Then you have that strange secret room where it has old writings of some kind of philosophy where it was stated that the body is the ultimate form of energy and heaven is found within these energies. It was like some weird justification for having orgys. Also Nemo (Dafoe) seeing himself in the corner of the image despairingly lusting after the woman who looked like Jasmine the maid was ominous and it really does allude to that loneliness you mentioned in your initial post.
