You can't judge movies now that were made in the past. I saw Aliens opening night. What made it amazing was that it was a big budget science fiction horror movie that followed a low budget horror movie. There were no military based science fiction films at that time. So, going into the film I expected it to be some kind of retread of the first film, but it was a tense high action military film with a variety of unique characters and an expansion of the story about the aliens. There was nothing like it at the time, so you can't look back on films and say they are generic because of all the copies that came after. In the 1930s there was Wizard of Oz and that had all kinds of costumes, it was in color, and we are used to much better today, but that's not how you judge a film like that, you have to imagine being in the past watching it. George doesn't care about any of this nonsense, I'm sure. He was president, he had a rough time, he was always being made fun of, and I'm sure he stays far away. She is a brilliant choice in regard to appealing to voters. Many women will vote for just because she's a woman. Women will conclude that she's "Strong and can handle it" and "It's about time" as many women do not care what a woman does or is about, as long as she's a woman. Women will support men who say they are women but look nothing like a woman. I have a grad degree in business and advanced marketing for nearly everything it's wise to market toward women. That's because they make almost all major and minor purchase choices for their family. That means the choices of men are highly influenced or overruled by the women in their lives. So, she is an ultimate candidate to get people to blindly vote for her. The actors playing the beautiful people weren't CGI creations, they all looked like models. That's because they probably were. If you look at the cast, they look much like their characters, so they are "beautiful" model types and the main actress is not, thus she was cast because she is ugly. Hunger Games was similar to a very good Japanese novel called Battle Royale. It was heavily focused on very good personality development and explanations of the characters. The Young Adult stuff in the West never has anything like that and much too simplistic to learn much from. I read the same kinds of books as you did when I was a kid and a lot more. You can't become an adult just read material that's fairy tale like and written for kids. That kind of defeats the point of reading, lol. Regarding science fiction, Hollywood consistently makes fake science fiction that's about relationships, thinly covered religious material, and fairy tales with moral themes. Science fiction is supposed to be about how humans may adapt to changes in technology, not the stuff I mentioned. It's exhausting after a while. I find myself watching shows/movies just to see how bad they are going to be. That's correct. They need to do a twist on it where the AI is extremely dangerous but no one knows it. My friend likes to watch true crime shows and many of the stories are exactly the same where a husband/wife takes an insurance policy out on the other and then kills them. That or some rich guy has a business and then people set him up for murder to take his money. Also, there's real life stories where a family member gets involved with drug gangs and everyone gets murdered or teenage romance ends up in murder. If you insert an AI maid, etc into that kind of plot it would be cool for them to see through all of the human criminals and then kill them all off ninja style all while the humans around them don't know what's happening. That would put a twist on AI because a great helpful aid for humans while making the movie a horror, thriller, crime drama. I would because I know how to think rationally. There are MANY black celebs who have had skin bleaching. That involves using hard chemicals to burn the brown out of their skin. It's not some miracle process, it's a person getting chemical burns all over their skin and it doesn't last forever. So, a black person would have to use the bleaching chemicals over and over to be able to have white skin. So, there is no way you could conclude that a person who did that for many years had a pigmentation condition that was natural, lol. By the way, this is how you can tell that I am smarter than you are. In the movie, the brain issue was done on purpose to make people stupid and interested in challenging the government. If they are able to make people intelligent, then why make them beautiful? I used to work with intellectually disabled people and they don't care what you look like. Anyway, it was one of those "Young Adult" stories that are not really science fiction but more like a fairy tale with a simple social comment about diversity. When I was a kid, I read adult books, and they helped me a lot more than this dumbed down stuff. I agree. My hope is to ride it out and leave before another Holocaust type situation happens. I was saying to someone at work the other day, just wait until the pendulum swings back again, and there will be trouble. Human nature has been the same for tens of thousands of years. The media, etc has been trying to change how humans think and behave around very important issues since I was a child in the 70s. I am a "liberal" about things like economics, but not about things like morality and ethics. Traditional morality is something humans crave and to attempt to change that invites a backlash or epic proportions. That's what happened in Germany before WW2, all of the same issues that annoy many people today were popular then. So, there's another horrible situation coming and it will happen the further away from WW2 we get because history repeats. I don't involve myself in politics any longer because all of the talk and policies almost never actually amount to anything and society is just a "wave" we all ride until the next crazy things happens. I thought the giant monster and the little ones that fell off of him in Cloverfield was scary. I didn't care for the movie, but the concept behind the monsters was good. View all replies >
