The Wikipedia article on Human Rights in Ukraine states that since 2014, 3 times the number of women have died from domestic abuse than the number of people who have died in the ongoing border conflict. Prior to the current invasion, something like 13,000 people have died. That means 39,000 women have been beaten to death in Ukraine in 8 years.

You’re really using domestic violence deaths as a justification for invasion? When in the USA there’s an average of 16,800 domestic violence deaths annually? Add that up over an eight year period and it far exceeds that figure you provided … so I guess based on your logic you think Russia would be justified in invading the US, right?

The US, UK, Russia and Ukraine did sign the Budapest memorandum in 1994 that gave assurances about respecting territorial boundaries in exchange for Ukraine giving up their nuclear weapons. It's not a treaty but I do think the US and UK should assist Ukraine in their efforts to fight off Russia. It makes the US look bad if we signed this memorandum and then let Ukraine burn.
