FACT: My above average critical thinking skills keeps me from ever finding someone guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...

I have the same problem. If you want to convict someone, then don't put me on the jury. I will dissect every piece of evidence and it's unlikely that you can convince me beyond a reasonable doubt that someone is guilty.

Are those above average critical thinking skills also what keeps you from finding a job?

I have friends who were excused from juries because they are PhD research scientists. The prosecution usual rejects them because they think they will have too high a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

Yet, my former girlfriend's mother was on several juries even though her husband and her son were both police officers in the same county. They asked her if she could still be impartial , she said yes, and they let her in. Kind of weird.
