Democratic Representative Jamaal Bowman lost to a primary challenger tonight who received an unprecedented onslaught of money from pro-Israel groups in the most expensive House primary in history.

Bowman — a member of “The Squad,” a coterie of progressive Democrats in the House of Representatives — became unpopular among pro-Israel Democrats because of his support for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas amid a war that has killed more than 35,000 people in Gaza.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s super PAC, United Democracy Project, poured $14 million into Bowman’s race as he faced Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

Early returns showed that Latimer dominated Bowman in Westchester County, winning more than 60 percent of the vote in the heavily white and affluent county. Conversely, Bowman only won 82 per cent of the vote in his base of support in the Bronx, which has a large Black and Latino population.

inconvenient fact for the 'jews took him down' narrative - bowman was down by 10-17 points in polls before aipac started advertising in the campaign.

bowman's district is not quite like a lot of the other hyper-progressive squad strongholds.

there are a lot of people there who won't nod along with his rape denial statements, for example.

sure. i don't think that's a crazy thing for them to do. particularly in a district that's about 10% jewish against a rep who called reports of rape on oct 7th lies & propaganda. jews are allowed to spend money supporting campaigns against candidates who smear them.

it's a silly baseless smear.
by any standard of urban war, the gaza campaign has been one of the most careful ever waged.
by most reporting the civilian to militant death ratio is around 1.5/1. that's almost certainly the 'best' ratio ever achieved.
that is not a genocide. people who spout that are in fact participating in a grotesque, rotten smearing of jews, because no other nation in that scenario, achieving what they've achieved, would be accused of that.

the best civ/military death ratio ever seen in a modern urban war is not a genocide. that's just stupid.
if you don't like all those dead palestinians, take it up with the people who started the war, who committed 1k+ manson murders, who committed mass rape, who put their citizens up as human shields, who are still holding hostages.
get them to surrender & release the hostages.

Both sides have committed atrocities, but one side is still doing it after 260+ days. So yes, it's a genocide by any and all standards.

Correct, no one side is morally right or wrong since they both hold ancestral ties. In the end, one side does hold reasoning over the other if you think about what's been going on there for the past decade, the slow erasure of their living space. I speak mainly in the West Bank and I hope you see what the settler thugs do there. Other than that, Gazans have close ties with their close brethren separated by land.

Now that I think about it, maybe everyone should just be Democratic and hold elections. If everyone turns to Democracy, atrocities and slow genocide can be permitted, according to Faux Newz and the likes. BUT WE'RE A DEMOCRACY!! kekekeke

Indeed, it isn't the ONLY reason why he lost but you have to remember that the Jew power spent the most in its history of punting money to candidates on this part as well. In other news, another 'Squad' member is close to losing as well, Cori Bush.
