Elizabeth Taylor was in Reflection in a Golden Eye with Marlon Brando
Marlon Brando was with Al Pacino in The Godfather
Al Pacino was with Meryl Streep in Angels In America
Meryl Streep was also in The River Wild
Kevin Bacon was also in The River Wild

I hope I did that correctly! Now I name someone else?

Kevin Bacon to John Travolta

reply

[deleted]

1) Doris Day co-starred with James Cagney in Love Me Or Leave Me
2) James Cagney co-starred with Betsy Palmer in Mr. Roberts
3) Betsy Palmer co-starred with Kevin Bacon in Friday the 13th.

Next: John Wayne

reply

John Wayne was in The Quiet Man with Maureen O'Hara.
Maureen O'Hara was in Only the Lonely with John Candy
John Candy was in Planes, Trains and Automobiles with Kevin Bacon

Next- Fred MacMurray

reply

Way to go, dewey! It appears we've raised the bar in this game with only three steps.

reply

Is this cheating ? I just watched this movie.

Doris Day sang on Sleepers soundtrack
Kevin Bacon was in Sleepers

reply

That's intriguing to me. A favorite movie of mine and somehow, I never noticed that. What did she sing?

reply

I think it's called All Alone.

reply

Hmmm. Seems like that would apply to Brad Pitt's character.

reply

I don't remember the scene. I think it was towards the front part of the movie.
I just remember thinking Hey, that's Doris Day.
It's a really good soundtrack.

reply

It's just at the end, when the eventual outcome of the characters was revealed, his was described as living a quiet and solitary remainder of his life.

reply

That would make total sense then. I was way off.

reply

Fred MacMurray

reply

[deleted]

Peter Capaldi/Brad Pitt World War
Z
Brad Pitt/Tom Cruise Interview With A Vampire
Tom Cruise/Kevin Bacon A Few Good Men

Next up: Denzel Washington

reply

[deleted]

Oliver Hardy.

reply

You need to connect Stan Laurel to Kevin Bacon

reply

He was In Nothing But Trouble with Mary Boland
Boland was in Julia Misbeves with Peter Lawford
Lawford was in April Fools with Jack Lemon
Lemon was in Mr. Roberts with Betsy Palmer
Palmer was in Friday the 13th with Kevin Bacon

reply

You beat me to it, dewey. I was working on this one.

reply

Can you do it in less moves db?

reply

I thought I was about to get it in four.

reply

I'd like to see it still.

reply

Like I said, I was still working on it and wouldn't that be kind of a moot point, taking away from dewey's win ?

reply

I say if you can do it in less moves than go for it db.
I threw this together fairly quickly.
I'm sure it can be done in less moves.

reply

Ok, just for the hell of it, I actually did it in three:

1) Laurel co-starred with Rory Calhoun in The Bullfighters
2) Calhoun co-starred with Julius Le Flore in Hell Comes to Frogtown
3) Le Flore and Bacon co-starred in, In The Cut

reply

I'd say this one goes to you db.
Nice job !

reply

Naw, you got there first. Like I said, just for the hell of it because you and Dazed encouraged me.

reply

Nice.What's your next challenge?

reply

[deleted]

Ok, I noticed something. So the connection isn't confined to co-stars and movies ? Being related will do ?

reply

[deleted]

Ok, but it seemed more challenging when I thought it was just through co-stars and movies.

reply

[deleted]

Shyte. Forgot.

Mary Pickford

reply

[deleted]

👍
I don't think it will be as hard as you think.

reply

We're at Mary Pickford

reply

[deleted]

I believe it. Good job, Dazed !

reply

Yeah , and I'm the bugger.

Check out my Who am I post.
Should be easy for you.

reply

I am very impressed! :) Can't do this one either, haven't heard of that person.. maybe next round.

reply

[deleted]

Nerys Hughes was in Second Best with William Hurt
William Hurt was in Broadcast News with Holly Hunter
Holly Hunter was in End of the Line with KEVIN BACON.

Next up-Capucine

reply

Really impressive, dewey ! I might be back in the game with this one.

reply

I thought you might like this one.

reply

[deleted]

1) Capucine co-starred in North to Alaska with Yvonne Peattie
2) Yvonne Peattie co-starred in The Big Picture with Kevin Bacon

Next: Charles Laughton

reply

Well done db. 2 moves.

Laughton was in Hunchback of Notre Dame with Maureen O'Hara
Maureen O'Hara was in Only the Lonely with John Candy
John Candy was in Planes, Trains and Automobiles with
KEVIN BACON.
Yeah I already used that. Deal with it.

Next- Adolphe Menjou

reply

Yeah, I was mesmerized with Laughton's portrayal as Quasimodo. It's one of my all time favorite movies.

I will begin to investigate your submitted challenge.

reply

I always try to do these on my own first.
With Mary Boland I had to look at her movies first then the rest I got.
With Nerys Hughes I had to look. Although I did see her movie with William Hurt. I just didn't remember her.

I am happy to say I did this one without any outside influence.
I can not say that about Adolphe Menjou. Better you than me.

reply

Yeah, it does take digging, which appeals to the detective in me. But you've got me puzzled with " better you than me. " That almost sounds as if you're somehow throwing me under the bus, or is that some more of your notorious cryptic humor ?

reply

Not throwing you under the bus at all db.

"is that some more of your notorious cryptic humor"

That is most certainly what it is. I tend to be the only one who likes my humor.
I just meant I wouldn't like to figure out Adolphe Menjou. I'm glad I thought of it before you did.

reply

You've got to admit, I'm learning how to read you. Ok, so you've given me a heads up you consider your choice exceptionally tough. Thanks for telegraphing that! 😉

reply

You HAVE come a long way db. I have told you before I am an acquired taste.

BTW the bait I threw out earlier got a nibble but not a bite. Perhaps I was a little to lackadaisical.
I will continue to lay low and perhaps hook a troll.

I am on record as saying this. I also realize you are very good at this game.
I am prepared to eat my words. I would be disappointed if you didn't prove me wrong.
Now the pressure is on you. :)

reply

You bet it is, cunning devil! 😁

reply

You're right! I took a cursory look at his impressive filmography and so far I've only recognized one of his movies. This could well be the most challenging one yet.

reply

I have faith in you db.

reply

Adolphe Menjou co-starred with John Archer in Letter of Introduction
John Archer co-starred with Bacon in The Little Sister

In the words of one of my favorite television chefs, Emeril Lagasse... " BAM! "

Payback time. Next one is Max Schreck . 😁

reply

That's amazing.
In the words of two of favorite public TV hosts, Wayne and Garth...We're not worthy. We're not worthy.

Payback indeed.

reply

This was not fun db.

Schreck was in Die verkaufte Braut with Hermann Kner
Kner was in Kinder, Mütter und ein General with Maximilian Schell
Schell was in Telling Lies in America with
KEVIN BACON

Fatty Arbuckle

reply

Did I stretch your grey matter, dewey ? I think someday, in the long run, you'll thank me. You also did an amazing job, in such a short period of time. I love the German words because part of my lineage is French/ German as well.

reply

I'm thankful everyday db. Thankful that people , not unlike yourself , let me become
the best possible me I can be.

I got lucky. I was looking for anybody recognizable. When I saw Schell I knew I had it.

reply

" This was not fun db."

Dewey, I've got to admit, this line produced one of the best belly laughs I've had in awhile It's just so straight forward and dry humored. It suddenly conjured this comical mental image of you sitting in front of your computer, appearing hapless and stressed.

reply

It's only funny because it's true.

I was determined to get this. Then after I looked at his filmography I thought it was a lost cause.

So yes I'm sure it was funny. You picturing Adolphe Menjou sitting , staring at his laptop, twisting his
mustache , with his hair messed up. Trying desperately to make any kind of sense of what he was seeing.

reply

I get the determination thing. I got to a point where I was so focused, it was actually stressing me, similar to the emoji games we had. I made a resolution to start approaching this in as a relaxed and carefree manner as possible.

reply

Roscoe Arbuckle is up.

reply

[deleted]

It wasn't that bad was it.
Did it take you all of 20 minutes ?

reply

Lon Chaney Sr. was the father of Lon Chaney Jr.
Chaney Jr. appeared in Apache Uprising with Abel Fernandez
Fernandez appeared with Bacon in Quicksilver

This was the first one where I wasn't able to make the links movie by movie but had to go through a relative. Hopefully, my next challenge will be as tough:

Rudolph Valentino

reply

Rudolph Valentino was in Nobody Home with Dorothy Gish
Gish was in The Whistle at Eaton Falls with Diana Douglas
Douglas was in Planes, Trains & Automobiles with
KEVIN BACON.

Do you want to play a game ?
Next up.

Nobuko Otowa

reply

" How about a nice game of chess ? " 😉 😁

reply

Again this was not the most pleasant experience.
I did actually find another. That one was with an extra step.
I vowed I could do it 3 and here it is.

The next one may be a challenge. She has been in many films but finding
that "one" movie may prove interesting.
