There seems to be a little confusion here. Who's male? Who's female?
Some of us have had a bit of trouble in sorting this out?

Male here, and I agree that it can be confusing at times. I'd like to see the optional gender symbol indicator available down the road. There are things that I might not say to a female, or vice versa, if only I knew.
I’ll have to upload my avatar that I used at IMDB when I get the chance, because it’s a picture of me. Anyone know how to do that?
RE uploading the avatar: Go to your profile, click on "edit profile", then put a _url_ for the picture you want to use in the box _above_ where your e-mail is.
shareThanks Mina. I got that far with it, but when I uploaded the avatar it didn’t render. I used the tiny pic URL that I thought was mentioned previously to upload my avatar, but no go. I also tried it from my Flickr account, but no luck.
shareOh... I'm not _that_ good with some of this stuff, but try this. In your browser, go to the picture you want to use. Right-click on it, to get the little drop down menu, click on "view image" (it should say something like this in English). Then you should get just the picture on that page. Copy _that_ url and paste it here. It should work. (I just tried with a FB picture and it worked)
P.S. I hope this makes sense!

Avatars sometimes help. But sometimes members choose an avatar based on a popular character of either gender. My avatar is me. Just an ordinary hayseed from the backwoods 😀

As for the Vladimir bit. It is a given name here. Our surnames have gendered suffixes (with some exceptions, think Milla Jovovich /I wonder why what's the first one that popped in my head lol/). So, if it was a surname, it would've been Vladimirova. Not that _that's_ that (what?) important on the Internet...
