TV shows that need to come to an end

Supernatural
The Simpsons
Grey's Anatomy
The Big Bang Theory

Agree about The Simpson's and TBBT. FOX might as well put the Bundy's (Married with Children) back on the air with a "The Next Generation" format. Shoe stores are from a bygone era so Bud would work at a tech support center. Kelly would be a part of the midnight stock shift at the local WalMart. Ed O'Neill as far as I know wants nothing to do with MWC but Katey will do nearly anything for a buck so Peg can alternate living with Bud's and Kelly's families. I guess if the show wanted to be more bold they could move one or both kids to Wanker County (WI). The baby does not exist in my mind kind of like Cousin Oliver.

Every reality TV show, including the news.

I gave up on The Simpsons years ago. The other three have never been on my radar.

reply

"Married With Children: The Next Generation" sounds awesome.

"Family Guy" and "South Park." Both shows peaked long ago.

reply

The pilot for MWC:TNG would be Bud and Kelly each inheriting an acre of the Wanker Farm (on Wanker Road in Wanker Township) that each acre has a dilapidated double wide on it. It would make it more realistic that a household could make it on one minimum wage income versus being in Chicago. There would be feud'n Wanker's and kiss'n cousin Wanker's that would be on each week. Too bad the great Tim Conway is no longer around. Bud would have an over weight and over bearing wife and Kelly would have a Jefferson Darcy type no goodnik boyfriend. Bud's car would always be broke down so he constantly has to take the budget store brand riding mower to and from town.

You know, the actress who played Peg was a backup singer on tour with Bette Midler back in the day. So not only should she have a job downtown as a seedy lounge singer, but Midler can play the neighborhood doyenne society matron who always wants the Bundy Brides to clean up their act...and yards.

(Bundy Brides can also be a spinoff....once Bud and Kelly have teenage girls.)

Considering that both Bud and Kelly were teens early in the run of MWC they realistically would have kids who would have kids in 2017. I'm sure the motto in Wanker County was "have 'em early and have 'em often."

Right...of course. Gosh - I hope I didn't blow my chances of writing for the show!!!

Maybe I can redeem myself with this - A VERY BUNDY HALLOWEEN has them thinking they're related to Ted Bundy?
.

reply

And of course, with cooking shows being popular, someone one the show has to start a cottage industry, Bundy Bundt Cakes.

reply

Why do they need to end? The Simpsons, Grey's Anatomy and Big Bang Theory all still have good ratings and are still pretty good shows. Maybe they aren't as great as they once were, but there are worse shows on television.

reply

"The Walking Dead."

Five years is long enough for any show.

reply

If a show still has good quality and good ratings, why should it have to end after a certain amount of years? If people don't like a show, they don't have to watch it. No reason to end popular shows just because they have been on the air for years.

reply

"Breaking Bad" left with its dignity intact. IMHO, you can't say the same about "The Simpsons."

Agreed. TWD is just spinning its wheels at this point.

reply

True we do have plenty of choices.

reply

House of Cards.

reply

Once Spacey's character became president the show ceased to be interesting (IMHO).

reply

I think the original intention for the new House Of Cards was for it to end after about 3 seasons. When it became a hit for Netflix, they wanted it to continue indefinitely. They obviously pressured the creator/show-runner Beau Willimon to do this, and he must have resisted because he left the show shortly afterwards for "creative reasons."

I watched HOC for 4 seasons and finally gave up because it was obvious that the quality of it had declined, and some of the plotlines were just ridiculous. The scandal with Spacey and its resulting in the plug being pulled on HOC was, in my opinion anyway, simply a blessing in disguise.

Criminal Minds
Law & Order SVU
Modern Family

Totally agree with Supernatural

reply

South park maybe. For me a shows expiration date has nothing to do with age and everything to do with quality. And i just don't find it as funny as i used to.
Disagree about Supernatural though. It's the CWs best show and i still enjoy it.It may be long in the tooth but the quality IMO hasn't waned at all.

reply

Calling a program "the CW's best show" is what Bill Shakespeare called "damning with faint praise."

reply

I totally agree with you on Supernatural and The Big Bang Theory. Also Law and Order SVU has been on way too long.

reply

House of Cards ... that last season was horrible, and I cannot even imagine what they have left to screw up in any new season, but I am done with it.
