Anyone else find shopping on Amazon infinitely easier and more efficient?

I can’t seem to get around it, afree spending the entire day at work I really don’t feel like going to the store. Between the free one day shipping, competitive pricing and most importantly the platform of recommendations and reviews it’s almost stupid not to. I just hope it doesn’t kill our economy/retail.

Amazon is my god. Not only do I do most of my shopping there but I bought stock at 1500$. Its my most profitable stock. Its still a bargain at 2000$ a share.

reply

I don't buy anything on Amazon, maybe I should try.

You should just listen to what those bastards did to Father Sydney MacEwan's masterpiece album 'The Lord is My Shepherd' with their criminally negligent MP3 encoding process. Crucifixion would be too good for them !

You're like Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory you start spouting random words and I tune out.

For many things, yes.

If you know exactly what you want and the price is good (sometimes it's not as good as local retail), it's great, if it's something you don't need immediately. Free next day or two day shipping isn't always available, and sometimes you need something right *now* anyway.

Sometimes I get overwhelmed by too much selection, and annoyed by their search, which keeps returning things that aren't relevant even if I put the word or words in quotes. Sometimes there are other ways to narrow down search but too often there isn't.

The reviews are a mixed bag. Often they can add to the confusion, with 50% of them hating the product and 50% loving it. What adds to the problem is I keep finding reviews for an entirely different product listed as a review for the product I'm interested in, so now I don't trust the reviews like I did. (Such as they were.)

I'm about to leave to go shop locally. I need to repot a plant and need a new pot and potting soil. On the way back I'll stop at a nursery for a specific plant I want. Couldn't or wouldn't shop Amazon for any of these things.

I go out of my way to not use Amazon cause they're a scumbag company and everything they ship shows up on my doorstep smashed to hell. But these days shopping online is unavoidable. Stores simply don't stock their shelves in the manner they used to.

Those are a couple more of the multiple reasons why I don't use Amazon either. I'm getting really tired of going to a store and being told, "we no longer stock that item. You will need to order it online." Excuse me, but I specifically made a trip to your store because I don't want to "order it online."

The only times I've used Amazon were last resorts, when I couldn't find the item anywhere else. I can count on one hand the number of times I've done this. Online ordering is a bad idea. I could list my reasons but these postings have a character limit.

I sometimes feel a little guilty for having Prime but in reality the only things I really buy on Amazon are more economical there than I find elsewhere. ..the turn around time is just the icing.
I am still tethered to the real world for food and clothing..
