The Wachowskis' "Bound"
Billy Bob Thornton's "Sling Blade"
Paul Weitz's "American Pie"
Michael Lehmann's "Heathers"
Jan De Bont's "Speed"
Len Wiseman's "Underworld"
David Mirkin's "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion"
Joe Johnston's "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" (although his later film Jumanji is great, too, HIStK was visually impressive considering when it was made)

I second Cube and Donnie Darko, too. I'd also second The Shawshank Redemption, but Frank Darabont directed The Green Mile right after that and they're both equally amazing.
