Movies you felt went for too long/had scenes that were too long?

Face/Off comes to mind for me, I liked the film but towards the end it was just getting dull. The chase scene on the speedboats as well was a little too long for me.

Batman vs Superman I recall the fight scene towards the end just dragging.

All the Transformers films. Just too long.

90% of movies from 90-120 mins are too long.
99% of movies over 120 mins are too long.

There are a few brilliant exceptions, but they are the exceptions.

(These rules only apply to movies meant to be seen in a theater with no intermission. Give a movie an intermission, and you can nearly double your running time.)

2001: A Space Odyssey's seemingly neverending psychedelic rainbow vomit scene. It was beautiful, but 5 or 10 seconds should be enough.

etc

BTW you may have noticed a pattern in some of my posts. I really HATE this movie

The movie itself was way too long for something inspired by a B grade monster film.

I think that’s how I felt about Legends of the Fall when it first came out. I was tired by how many people died. I barely remember the movie though.

The obvious one is the ending to Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. They could have ditched 9 of the 10 endings to that one.

The 40-Year Old Virgin was a good 40 minutes too long.

I am one of the dozens that liked Batman V Superman. I just think they should have ended before the whole Doomsday thing.
