"Top" 3 worst shitcoms.

Which sitcoms are the biggest shitcoms?

1. Roseanne
2. The Big Bang Theory
3. Whitney (Whitney Cummings' show from a few years ago. Should have been called "Shitney")

Honourable mention to 2 Broke Girls.

reply

1. Modern Family
2. Will and Grace
3. The Cosby Show

reply

I gave up on Modern Family after season 2. It tried too hard to be funny.

reply

Jeez, I'd put Modern Family and Cosby as two of the greatest sitcoms ever.

reply

ME TOO.

reply

I’m guessing being gay or black is no laughing matter for trev! πŸ™ˆ

reply

LMAO...I OWN CAM AND MITCH POPS...THEYRE MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS...BY FAR...LOVE COSBY/NOT BILL COSBY....I WAS NEVER A WILL AND GRACE FAN,BUT I DONT HATE IT EITHER.

reply

Being gay is fine. But, more importantly, it should be funny. See Soap. And being black is fine. Again, it should be funny. See Good Times. The Cosby Show was not funny in the least and Modern Family was even worse.

reply

SO....IF WILL AND GRACE HAD STARRED BILL COSBY INSTEAD OF GRACE...YOUR LITTLE HEAD WOULD HAVE EXPLODED,HUH?πŸ€”

reply

Alice (1976-85) - wow , 9 seasons
Still Standing (2002-06)
Married with Children- shitcom yes, but sometimes it was good shyt
Does Brady Bunch and Saved by the bell count?

And some wise guy in the back said to write β€œthe last two seasons of game of thrones......”

reply

Both Brady Bunch and Saved by the Bell count.

reply

ALICE IS ICONIC....KISS MY GRITS....I LIKE ALL THOSE OTHERS TOOO...LOVE SAVED BY THE BELL,GREW UP WATCHING IT SATURDAY MORNINGS...ALL OF GAME OF THRONES CAN LICK MY UNDERPANTS.

reply

Brady Bunch is great. You are crazy.
MWC is a classic. You are moderately crazy.
Alice did kind of suck. You are a rational individual.

reply

Well supposedly Jackie Gleason had a new show after the Honeymooners that was so bad that instead of showing the second episode he spent the airtime apologizing for how bad it was. β€œMy Mother the Car” starring Jerry Van Dyke was also known for being terrible.

reply

MY MOTHER THE CAR WAS MY GRANDMOTHER'S FAVORITE SHOW...HER FAVORITE MOVIE WAS SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS...SHE WAS A STRANGE ONE.

reply

I heard about the Jackie Gleason one.

reply

I don't know, because I don't care about the ones that suck.
But imo The Big Bang Theory is not that bad (at least the first 3-4 seasons).

reply

MY FATHER WATCHES BIG BANG THEORY RERUNS 24/7...THEN HE RECITES DIALOGUE AND BLUEPRINTS PLOTS AND JOKES FOR YOU.

reply

My condolences.

reply

Why Roseanne? That show was actually funny the first couple of seasons. You should've gone with The Conners.

reply

Everytime it was on, I had a hatred for it. It's just a bunch of dirty rednecks being dirty rednecks that put up with loud and obnoxious Roseanne. The house looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.

reply

Rednecks in a suburb in Illinois?

Seemed like a pretty realistic household. You prefer Full House?

reply

Prefer Full House? Yes. Both are bad though.

The Conners seem like such a trashy family. The house was ugly. Everything from the furniture to the wall colour.

reply

They were absolutely trashy, but the jokes were funny.

reply

Coupling (US) - Original was brilliant. Then the creator changed the jokes and pace to cater to American sensibilities. Killed the mood.

Step By Step

Full House - I just don't care that it was popular. That's not a quality in itself.

reply

I did a post on the Full House boards talking about how bad it was. It wasn't received well by the other users.

reply

I don't know if this one if going to get any better, but "B Positive" premiered and is a few episodes along now. I watched the pilot then the next two episodes. No more -- three strikes and you're out, as they say. A real turkey.

reply

I've never heard of it.

reply

I can't remember where everyone here lives. I'm in the USA and it's on our NBC network. The male main character is a neurotic, and not even in a funny way, just irritating. He finds out his kidneys are failing and he needs a transplant. The female main character was his classmate when they were in high school. She has an IQ of about 80, a long history of alcohol and drugs, and a lifetime history of casual sex with any guy who smiles at her.

Now, years after their high school days, they meet by chance. She finds out about his kidney problems and immediately gets herself checked for compatibility as a donor; then, finding that they're perfect kidney matches, she immediately offers him one of hers. Immediately -- she doesn't even ponder over it. I suppose this act, volunteering a major organ to a near stranger, is supposed to endear her in viewers' eyes -- yeah, she's a stupid, drugged out slut, but she has a heart of gold -- but it just makes her look like even more of a flake.

Problem is, in order for her kidney to be any good, she's gotta stay sober for a while. So she agrees to move in with him so he can keep an eye on her. I suppose some sort of relationship will develop between them, but I'm not going to see it happen.

On a side note, the opening titles are cartoonish depictions of surgery, complete with explicit depictions of intestines and other organs. Like the song goes, that's entertainment!

reply

I have NBC here and I've never heard of it. That whole thing sounds ridiculous. It sounds cheesy and melodramatic.

reply

Not melodramatic. It's a comedy. Or at least it's supposed to be one. Here's a link:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11839500/

And I had the network wrong. CBS, Thursday nights, 8:30 ET.

reply

I hate that guy who plays Drew. That main girl is good in the film Bad Education that came out last year.

reply

I haven't seen Bad Education, but Ashford's bio on IMDB says she's won a Tony award. Still, I don't think even Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn could save this stinker.

reply

I haven't watched a sitcom in about 20 years, they are just so unfunny these days and lately have become political too (BBC anyway), they are about as enjoyable as soap operas for me, which I take more care to avoid than COVID-19!

So three would be too hard to narrow down! Political correctness pretty much killed comedy.

reply

I think the last time I followed any sitcom regularly was in the 1990s. Today's comedies are so predictable and aren't even funny.

reply

Frasier was the last one I'd watch regularly.

reply

The last great decade for sitcoms, American ones at least, was the 90s.
