"Top" 3 worst shitcoms.

Which sitcoms are the biggest shitcoms?

1. Roseanne
2. The Big Bang Theory
3. Whitney (Whitney Cummings' show from a few years ago. Should have been called "Shitney")

Honourable mention to 2 Broke Girls.

Off the top of my head...

Joannie Loves Chachi - Okay, so Happy Days jumped the shark and this show was about two characters who came into their own post-jump. No comedy, no talent in front or behind the camera, and stale before it was even filmed. On top of it all, they sang in every episode like they thought they had talent.

2 Broke Girls - I watched one episode because I thought the lead was hot in Thor. All set up lines with delivery, plus every joke was about being poor or about sex. Bland, wooden acting by the leads. Canned laughter at anything. Perhaps the worst show I've ever seen in my life.

AfterMASH - I think MASH jumped the shark when Trapper John left. This show was about three characters I wasn't interested in - Potter, Mulcahy and Klinger - and set them back home in the midwest. Man, I thought MASH got boring. Zero laughs, stale acting, no drama. Blech.

I can think of others that I didn't see (Shasta McNasty and Homeboys from Outer Space come to mind) but I only want to judge what I actually viewed.

reply

There was an After MASH? Wasn't 11 years enough?

reply

I never saw it but I remember it being on around 1983. I guess the play on words of “aftermath” was too tempting for the producers and writers.

reply

I don't think it lasted a season, while MASH lasted about 6 seasons too long for my taste. I think the Korean Conflict was only 3 or 4 years.

reply

Good picks! JLC was anti-comedy and AfterMASH was a new flavor of bland. (was Trapper John MD a comedy? I recall that it sucked)

reply

No, it was a drama. It actually lasted six or seven seasons if I recall correctly. The funny part is it didn't even star the actor from MASH in the role.

reply

Just his hair. They thought the hair was enough.

reply

1. How I Met Your Mother
2. How I Met Your Mother
3. How I Met Your Mother

How hard did that show suck?

reply

I always confuse How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. Never watched any of them.

reply

I saw one episode so that should tell you something.

reply

Roseanne was a great show. WTF are you smoking? I agree the later seasons once they won the lottery were shit though and it was when the show "jumped the shark". But the earlier seasons did a great job portraying lower income middle class family.

reply

Yeah I loved Roseanne too, mainly for the always excellent John Goodman. But each to their own.

reply

John Goodman is such a versatile actor. Very talented. Remember the scene he went out to beat up Jackie's boyfriend? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvj48pfUo3U. The part where he picks up his coat, you know shit is going down.

reply

Sorry, but I don't find dirty hillbillies funny. Roseanne was loud and obnoxious. And I hated the art-direction of the show.

reply

lol

They were hardly dirty hillbillies. Just working class joes, joes ;)

I agree Roseanne was obnoxious, in and out of character. Still, John Goodman, man. John fucking Goodman. I'll say no more.

Freddie Mercury wishes he could hit those octaves.

reply

I wonder why she was even asked to sing in the first place. She was known to be shrill.

check it out
the trouble with tracy
snow job

reply

Am I too young? I've never heard of these.

reply

all canadian crap from the 70s and 80s.

reply

Canadian movies and shows before 2000 were pretty bad. Except the ones for kids. Mr. Dressup is my guy.

reply

i remember snow job vaguely.

canadian content regulations have so much to answer for!

reply

I'm with you on Big Bang Theory. I saw one episode and thought it was good. But 11 seasons of the same dumb jokes and idiotic characters?! Jeez!
Roseanne, never really liked it.
Whitney: never heard of it.
But I mean there are too many bad ones to name. I always hated McCale's Navy.
Leave it to Beaver.

reply

Big Bang Theory had such unlikable characters. All of them. And they all player them as cliche as one could expect. I saw a video on YouTube where they showed scenes of how sexist the show is, and people n the comments who were fans of the shoe were agreeing.

reply

Fans of the shoe??

reply

Are yoo making foon oof my Canadian accent?

reply

Oh no eh, you hoser.

Three's Company
The Jeffersons
Mama's Family

reply

C'mon. No sitcom where the male star accidentally flashes his junk on camera can be altogether bad.

reply

Ew

reply

It's okay, the slip only stayed on the air in reruns for about 30 years before anyone noticed and edited it out.

reply

John Ritter flashed America and nobody noticed or cared? Ouch.

reply

I liked The Jeffersons

reply

A whole lot of people do/did.

I'm not a big TV person.

reply

Three's Company is stupid, but it was entertaining. John Ritter stole the show.

reply

Classic shitcom. Every episode had the same plot, it was all a misunderstanding .

reply

That was the point though. That's what made it so absurd.

reply

3's Company is one of my all time favorites. A big part of my childhood TV addiction. I can't really defend it.

reply

A Cuban series inspired by a US show

Mi Madre el Coche

reply

I don't really like sitcoms, and I agree with your first 2, never saw Whitney, but I couldn't last 5 minutes of 2 Broke Girls.

I would also add Joanie love Chachi, My Two Dads, and Small Wonder

Edit
ALF

reply

I thought I'd get more hate for putting Roseanne.

reply

I just never cared for her, or Laurie Metcalf. John Goodman and the kids were alright.

reply

I agree. I still don't like Laurie Metcalf. And her damn blinking annoyed me.

reply

Small Wonder! Wow. That might be the best pick yet. Repellent!
