oh I think that must be another current popularity list that reflects the age bias of the IMDb voters. Better films than The Lion King, The Santa Clause, The Flintstones, Dumb and Dumber, Clear and Present Danger, Speed (which I admit I like), and The Mask have sunk without trace from a few years earlier. I can't comment on Forrest Gump because I've never liked - apart from Sally Field's very pragmatic approach to being a parent.

reply

The movie that got my attention was The Little Rascals being in the top 10 popular ranking.

It's not shown in the U.S.A. because the character of Buckwheat has been deemed "racist".

I haven't seen this movie or the original show on cable in over a decade.

reply

I don't remember ever hearing about it - interesting cast of (I assume) parents though.

reply

Killing Zoe (1994)

reply

1993

reply

I’ve thought it was 1993 also but some sources say 1994. Are you using IMDB?

reply

Yes for popularity rankings. I use The Numbers (domestic)for Box office.

The Numbers doesn't have any box office data for that movie.

reply

Great year for film. I’ve rated 15 movies from 94 as 4/5 or higher. In no particular order, they are

Pulp Fiction
The Madness of King George
Heavenly Creatures
Muriel’s Wedding
Bullets Over Broadway
Shallow Grave
Priest
The Crow
Quiz Show
Leon
The Ref
The Lion King
The Sum of Us
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
In the Mouth of Madness

reply

It is a great year. Many films that will stand the test of time.

reply

It's a really good selection of films, I will definitely have to see something from this list.

Most disappointing film that I was really looking forward to ...
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues - I loved the book so much, but this film just didn't do it for me

reply

My friend bought Apocalypse Now on Laserdisc, we thought it was the coolest thing ever (of course we had to flip it in the middle..or it was on two discs ..I can't remember which it was)

Anyway some trivia..The movie Airport 77 (1977) actually showed one in use. I'm pretty sure that was the first showing of Laserdisc tech in a movie.
