Chevy Chase is 80 today. What was his funniest movie?

Caddyshack

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)

YUP...100% THE CORRECT ANSWER.

Vacation.

For me, it'll always be Fletch.

Still laugh when I think of his delivery for lines like, "C'mon guys, it's all ball bearings nowadays!"

reply

With those teeth

reply

X2. Choice made easy for me because Fletch showcased the beauty of Dana Wheeler-Nicholson.

reply

He'll always be John Cocktoasten to me.

You don't meet too many Scotch-Romanians. ;)

I didn't realize Chevy got the top billing in Caddyshack. I love that movie, but I'm going to say Vacation (1983). Caddyshack isn't really a "Chevy Chase" movie.

reply

I THINK OF CADDYSHACK AS A DANGERFIELD MOVIE.

reply

I think of it as Ted Knight movie. Just kidding!

reply

LOL...I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKE TED KNIGHT FROM TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT...A GREW UP WATCHING THAT SHOW.

BILL MURRAY COULD MAKE A CASE FOR IT BEING HIS MOVIE REALISTICALLY.

reply

Cinderella boy

reply

Out of such an ensemble cast, I think Mr. Knight provided a generous portion of great laughs. To this day I can't not talk to my friend Billy without several repetitions of his name.

reply

I'll go with the very first "Vacation" movie.

reply

Christmas Vacation.
