He supports Brexit. He's dead to me.

Voting for the ignorant Brexiteer view of the EU is unforgivable for someone who is supposed to be educated. He's on the level of child molesters and dog torturers to me now. Could be he's become senile, about the only excuse I could accept.

reply

Wasn’t the UK supposed to implode from Brexit? Who are these people still reporting as though it exists?

reply

Cleese is an ass. A funny ass, but an ass nevertheless.

reply

I'm sorry, but how is he an ass? Is he an ass to you just because he supported Brexit?

reply

Sorry, do you want to engage in arguing with me about my opinion
of John Cleese? What for? I think he's funny, but I've seen lots of
interviews from him, as well as his political points of view and I don't
like him. Sorry if that somehow offends you.

reply

Do you have a funny walk prepared?

reply

Cleese has recently discovered a "funny walk" sign in the Swedish town of Haparanda.

reply

I would not even attempt to compete with Cleese in the "Funny Walk" department.

reply

"F*** the EU"
Victoria Nuland

reply

Unlike your Russian leak, Cleese's betrayal of the British people isn't presented out of context. And why would you censor the word "fuck" in a direct quote? Are you a minor?

reply

You can be an adult and still dislike swear words. Geesh...

reply

And when you're religious whatsoever then writing "geesh" is as much a sin as writing "jesus" when used as a swear word. Another hypocrite spotted.

reply

I never said that I was religious. You seem to like to jump into conclusions...

reply

I've always found this to be a very weak argument.

For a lot of reasons.

reply

Brexit is turning out to be more of a Nuxitburger.

The UK can never go back to being glorious as their era as a global power has passed. It worked for a few centuries due to technology and generational wealth but both are outdated and dead.

Cleese is very much like many of the older generation who can't adapt to a changing world and yearn of the "good 'ol days" so they cling to things like Brexit because it feels like a last stand before the fall.

Brexit has nothing to do with this ^^^^ It's about not being shackled by an unelected committee.

reply

breaking off from the EU will undoubtedly raise the costs across the board for all imported goods from mainland Europe. That's what happens when you break away from a larger body of trade partners. Now you're just an outsider with less leverage to buy goods at a discounted rate. The UK will have to go abroad and either steal more land and resources OR pay up in the difference as they no longer have the benefit of being a larger trade bloc.

reply

It's funny how people not from this country think they know better. Did you know that stuff we get from the US is artificially priced high because of the EU? Did you also know that if the EU decide to raise their prices we will simply shop elsewhere? Did you know that there are countries lining up to trade with us? The EU wants to punish us so that nobody else will leave their floundering ship. They have done nothing but lie about the Irish border saying a soft border wont work. Why not, it does with Switzerland?
Stop talking like you know what will happen...you don't.

reply

Lol, the UK’s largest trading partners are Euro countries. Good luck “shopping elsewhere.”

Because that's the rules. It was more expensive to shop elsewhere because we were tied to EU rules. We buy a lot more from them than they do from us. We can always buy the same stuff elsewhere as I said.

reply

Kind of like "buy American" isn't it?

reply

Kind of is.

The British Pound has been higher than the US Dollar decades before the UK joined the EU trade bloc. When I visited England for the first time in '86 I was amazed how everything made in the US was literally two to three times more expensive. The only parity seemed to be with Japanese electronics, music (CDs/LPs/Tapes), and food.

Everything else you bring up about N. Ireland's border and the EU supposedly punishing you all this time are just political bulljive talking points. It's similar to here in the States with rabid Trump supporters who scream against Globalism and the Chinese all the while Trump and the entire GOP party have their fingers in the Chinese economic pie.

Because of the EU rules

So why can't there be a soft border like Switzerland? What makes it impossible? And don't get me started on the fishing rights. Like I said, you know nothing.

reply

"you know nothing" is not a persuasive argument.

reply

Except in your case when you prove it ahead of time.

>> And you are dead to him. Plus he's much more successful and influential !

Like that.

reply

Not meant to be a persuasive argument. The OP is obviously clueless.

Why should laws affecting UK citizens be made by people in Brussels that UK citizens did not elect?
