I don't see anyone taking him up on his offer. Especially not this project since vampire movies haven't been doing too well at the box office recently. Two Dracula movies flopped last year (The Last Voyage of the Demeter and Renfield).
He's made some of my favorite movies of all time but I think his theatrical release career is completely dunzo. He's 76 and hasn't directed a movie in 14 years and that was a comeback after a 9 year hiatus. Two movies in the past 26 years with both of them performing very poorly at the box office.
Sadly, I think you're right it's unlikely.

shareI can't make that claim but Big Trouble in Little China is certainly one of my favorite movies of all time. It is an enormously original and creative film.
Honestly I don't know how he went from what he was in the 80s to a non-factor in the industry. I'm not sure how much of that was Hollywood execs shunning him and how much of it was his own decision to step away.
