Yes, how dare an adult man date an adult woman who is not the same age as him. I too am sickened by this.

Never mind the fact that she might have killed herself, the true sad fact in this whole thing is the age difference between the two, THAT is the true tragedy here.

Why 28 year olds are still kids, she was barely out of elementary school, probably still used crayons, and Jim Carrey as a man in his 50's surely is approaching the end of his life, so for an OLD crotchety old man who clearly acts his age it is WRONG to date such young woman.

It's sad that the woman died but this made me LOL. People can get really overly dramatic about age differences even though everyone is an adult.

it's wrong for these guys to take advantage of young, inexperienced, and naïve women. and that's what he did. I'm sure the whole time he was thinking about how great of a person she was and not how young and beautiful she is.

28 is young but it's not that young. My doctor is 29. 28-year-olds have been adults for a decade and went through puberty a decade and a half ago. By 28 most people have had close people in their lives die, been through lots of relationships. Most people who are 28 are already married and have children. Many own homes. 28 is young only in the sense that we have been able to raise life expectancy through sanitation and medicine. There is nothing "juvenile" about 28-year-olds. Most of them are not making tweets and selfies but are raising families and building careers.

We are not talking about inexperienced, naive people. Yes, the US loves to infantilize people their whole lives.

nowadays it's different though. so many men and women who are 25, 26, 27, 28 years old are so immature in so many ways, not just in a relationship way. so many guys who are 25, 26, 27, 28 are still living at home mooching off their parents and are not settling down with their girlfriend because nowadays men are immature as far as committing to their girlfriend. that's why so many people nowadays who are in their 20s don't get married. and my mom recently told me about a year ago that my stepsister's daughter who is 27 now is so young and immature when she was relating to me about me, and I'm 37 right now am too old to date a woman who is her age because a woman who is around 25, 26, or 27 years old is too young and immature for me to date, they are like kids, girls who are 25, 26, 27, or 28 years old. and there is the old saying for women that is when I was in my 20s I had a lot of fun but was too young to really do anything special and in my 30s I was old enough and mature enough to really do special things in life.
