Favorite Performance? (Besides Lord Voldemort)

For me, it's Amon Goeth from Schindler's List.

Lenny from Strange Days

hell yeah!

I'd have to say both Harry from "In Bruges", and the titular disturbed individual in "Spider".

reply

He has so many but his best performance is probably the English Patient.

A very divisive film. I liked it in the theater then I heard people thought it was pretentious, especially after Seinfeld had fun with it. I wonder why they (the TV show) chose to go there? Elaine hates it, and she's convincing with her argument.

reply

As good as Seinfeld was you cant compare it to the English Patient. Seinfield is forgettable nothing in that show is to be taken seriously or worth remembering. The English Patient is unforgettable. 9 Oscars, 12 nominations, you cant compare anyone in Seinfield to Ralph Fienness. Seinfield isnt even my favourite comedy show.

Maybe it was just a bounce from Seinfeld but I have seen a lot of heat against TEP, probably mostly here.
Maybe it wasn't Lawrence Of Arabia but it seemed to have an epic scope and a multi-layered story, so I liked it.
I'm sure it's not so great that it gets included in everyone's 100 best, but it's a very classy effort.

reply

But where is the heat coming from? What’s the critique?
It’s also very romantic and sad.

Actually I have two:

Onegin
The English Patient

Hamlet - live performance. He was mesmerizing

Definitley Amon Goeth. And it's ridiculous he lost for that role to Tommy Lee Jones in the Fugitive.

reply

I have to give his performance in Quiz Show a mention.

Magwitch - Great Expectations (2012)
