I think I'll watch Hooper tonight.

Sad to see another legend pass on.

I remember when I was very young, he made headlines for posing 'nude' in Cosmopolitan magazine. Of course, he really wasn't nude on that bear-skin rug (he had his privates covered) but it caused quite the scandal back then. It quickly became a 'collectible'. I'm certain anyone who still has a copy of that magazine lying around will watch it's value shoot up.

Very little on the news in the UK, was about the fifth story from the top and just a few minutes showing a few clips of his movies.

Personally I think the only movies I have seen of his are Deliverance and Boogie Nights (both excellent), but am aware he was a huge star in the 70s

Now have you seen more like Shamus, White Lightening, Lucky Lady, Hustle, Fuzz, Navajo Joe, 100 Rifles, Shark, Skullduggery, Impasse, Sam Whiskey, Rough Cut, Sharky's Machine, Stick, Malone, Raven?

May He rest in peace.

RIP, Good buddy! I love you!

Another legend. RIP.
I wasn't a big fan. I liked him on Gunsmoke.... hated his Good Ole Boy shit. He was such a jerk during his divorce from Loni, but I did enjoy his series, Evening Shade.

Good call, OP. Hooper was my favorite by him.

I'm not going to pretend I've always loved Burt Reynolds. After a while he seemed to be going for light-weight comedy roles, trading on his affable manner and good looks. But he did have some really good early work (Gunsmoke, Deliverance), and he had real presence. When BR was on a talk show, I didn't yawn and walk to the bathroom. He seemed self-effacing while being very confident and funny. Very likable. I don't remember whatever his romances were (Field and Anderson and who else) and whether he treated these women well (and vice versa), but I wouldn't want to dwell on that now. RIP Burt.
