Jones had been the member of the sketch show that Palin was closest to and the pair would often pen their comedic material together.
The 77-year-old from Colwyn Bay was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2015 and has previously said that people with the condition 'are not aware that things are going wrong for them'.
Palin, 76, has now said that despite his friend suffering from the illness, he has managed to keep part of his humour.
