What's wrong with Women Talking, and Take This Waltz?
shareI don't remember Take This Waltz too much but I remember hating it. As for Women Talking, the writing just seemed too on the nose. It was a simple premise but it felt like they were dumbing it down for the audience. Like they would lay the situation out and discuss the pros and cons when I already considered them before they mentioned it. Some of the dialogue sounded like they were from the 1800s and some of it sounded like how we speak now. There were also a few times I noticed that the women would say things they had no business knowing being confined to that one area. I couldn't believe Sarah Polley won a writing Oscar for it.
