Not the best Avenger girl

I loved the Avengers but didn't like Diana Rigg.

Too snooty and upper middle class for me.

Tara King (Linda Thorson) was my fav. :)

The OP here is ridiculous. Linda Thorson had a certain cloddish sexuality, and seems to have done what the directors and producers asked of her. But she had very limited range, and was a bimbo, compared to Diana Rigg, or even not.

Diana was not only the best in this show, but is one of my two very favorite actresses.

reply

In other words, OP, you resent that she is out of your league. She had wit, style, class and a vocabulary far beyond you.

Hey! No worries! Put some lotion on your dominant hand and . . ., with The Rolling Stones “Satisfaction” playing in the background.

Yes. I am sneering at you.

Diana Rigg was the best Avenger girl. But the best episodes, if you like taunt thrillers, were the Cathy Gake episodes. Rigg’s episodes were fun and goofy but sometimes too outlandish. That said, some of my favorite episodes were very Emma Peel oriented (The Joker, The House that Jack Built).

And yet, she's the only Avengers girl that's widely remembered today - the only thing the mainstream remembers about the show!

And she stayed awesome right up to the end, when she was in her last years she blew the rest of the "Game of Thrones" cast right off the screen. Damn, she was a hell of an actor.

Uma Thurman was the best one

reply

Dianna Rigg was the Sean Connery of Avenger women

reply

Oh hell Diana Rigg created the role of Emma Peel. The "too snooty" you detect is called being British. Uma Thurman can't wash off the American white trash.

reply

Linda Thorson's Tara King for me.

reply

Thorson? She was the least of them. The only legitimate question is "who was second-best, after Diana Rigg?"
