A SPIN-OFF WITH BARBOSSA?

What do you all think of a spin-off film just with Barbossa? He went from main villain to anti-hero and while is clearly hard to pull a POTC without Jack Sparrow ( specially when he is Jack´s Nemesis and vice-versa ) that would be really cool.

By the way, after all the megalomaniac production of POTC 2 and 3 and while the movie is damn fun there seems to be a downgrade in terms of production values, I mean, a 150 million dolars movie is minimun or less than a blockbuster costs nowadays and Johnny Depp must be probably ( thanks to Jack Sparrow ) one of the best payed actors for only this role (even if he can get quiet "cheaper" in more independent productions and movies from his pal Tim Burton )...but compare dwith 2 and 3 it looks like a "cheap" movie with really no spectacular special effects ( something that all other movies were nominated for ). I would say that a return to the franchise after the extended 1 film/2 episodes would cost something like 300 million dolars, not the half of that.

Well, as a Barbossa fan, I would be quite satisfied if the series ended with IV. I like where Barbossa winds up at the end of this movie and I see no need to continue his particular storyline (without giving away spoilers). Let the bad ass Cap'n retire in ignorant bliss!

Angelica could take over Barbossa's role as Jack's foil rather nicely.

Production values - What did they spend to haul ~800 crew members (catering, medics, besides the principles) 30 miles out out to a tiny island for a short shoot? Really now... no concern about the budget there... was that trip really necessary/worth the investment? I doubt it.

I would like some background on Barbossa. A 5th would not be bad. But if they do too many of a franchise, people get tired of it. People got tired of Police Academy, Lethal Weapon (4 didnt do as well as the other three), and Earnest movies. Let's not take these too far.
I do like to read people's fan fictions. I go to www.fanfiction.net to see some fanfics from many movies and more. I have a few on there, too.

Geoffrey Rush is the best actor... ever...!!!

I would like to see a movie centered around Barbosa. As far as production value I thought it was pretty good except it was dark... and a few things in the story needed to be explored more etc.; like the zombie pirates and why was Sparrow not threatened to be made into a zombie; the voo-doo dolls - I know that the zombie threw Jacks off cliff but seems there should have been more too them and more about blackbeards sword. Over all loved the movie.

If they do a Barbossa movie, I would be FIRST in line to see it.

I'd love more PotC movies with Barbossa. He's my favorite character of Geoffrey's.

We can both be first!!! You really know a great actor when you see one. I dont see whats so great about (coughing): Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise has never appealed to me physically. He's a very good actor, but I honestly feel Geoffrey Rush is in a much better league.
