He has seemed to have money issues ever since he was acquitted. Millions of dollars has been made off of the "O.J. did it" media industry so he tried to make money off the hoopla himself

How does he have money issues though? He has a nice monthly pension from NFL about $25,000. How many people do you know make that amount monthly? It's impressive!

Not even the Goldmans can touch it as part of their civil judgment. They must be furious!

$25000 a month would be like winning the lottery to the average person but not someone who was worth millions and accustomed to that lifestyle. And yes it seems the Goldmans have been quite upset over the years with their hand out, unable to get a payout.

He had expensive legal problems for one. How much money did all those lawyers in the criminal case cost? I don't know but it was a lot. Then there was the civil lawsuit where the plantiffs were awarded ... actually, wasn't it the proceeds from this book? I have a hard time remembering the timeline... Wasn't it after the book that he got caught trying to steal his own memoribilia back? The whole story is so insane. They could make a really good series out of it, if anyone had the balls. (Maybe they already have and I haven't been paying attention. I'm aware of one that covered the first trial, but that was really just the tip of the OJ story.)

Yeah, they came out with the "People vs OJ" series last year. It was a big hit.

The book was before the kidnapping thing.

The Goldmans actually went to court and got publishing rights to the book and republished the book to try to satisfy their civil judgement. However, I believe OJ is storing money in offshore accounts to avoid paying the Goldmans. He REALLY hates the Goldmans.

He said that about Nicole and that was the reason she was killed (by drug dealers).

It's plausible as the Mezzaluna restaurant where Goldman worked & Nicole frequented was a known drug/mob hotspot with multiple coworkers and friends connected to that place being murdered around that time as well.

Not to mention OJ had cheated on Nicole multiple times (he met Nicole through cheating with his first wife). Yet he couldn't stand having her with another man even though it was already 2 years they were divorced.

He probably saw Ron with Nicole and flew into a jealous rage. If he couldn't have her , no one else can.

I don't think O.J. had severe money problems it's more likely he was doing anything he could to capitalize off Nicole's and Ron's murder. Remember his cringe inducing reality show Juiced? Man, that's hard to find anywhere but if you get a chance to see it you'll see how O.J. will stoop lower than low and do ANYTHING for a buck. The "If I Did It" book would probably have made him anywhere from 1-5 million. O.J. gets 25k a month in pension so he'll never be broke.
Also, remember the Goldman's dad has relentlessly pursued O.J., constantly a thorn in O.J. side and really it was O.J. fighting for his crappy memorabilia(before the Goldman's got a hold of it) that caused him to go to jail for 9 years. Now that O.J. is free he's winning the battle again but ultimately who will win the war between O.J. and Ron's dad?
In short, O.J. Simpson was worth about 20 million(in today's dollars) before he killed Nicole and Ron. He's spent almost a decade in jail and now in his old age instead of living in his nice house in Brentwood he's bobbing and weaving around paying a 33 million dollar civil suit and living a much reduced lifestyle than what he once had.

The Browns sued O.J. as well and they won, the kids are supposed to get 12.5 million each. My guess is the kids get everything O.J. has once he dies, maybe around 3-5 million.

In Tawny Kitaen's unpublished memoir, she spoke about how she believed that he did it after she talked to him following the acquittal.
