Allied reviews

Hi! I am sad the film is getting bad reviews... Anyway, everybody says Marion is fantastic in her role... But I hoped some Oscar nods for the film and it looks like not at the end... :(

I don't want to look for them! Do you have a general idea what the reviewers don't care for?

Since the beginning, early word was that Marion is incredible but the movie is so so. I was never expecting Oscar nods really. I'm hoping for a box office hit only! It seemslike a crowd-pleaser.

I'm with Allgot on this one. I felt all along this would be a big Hollywood film for Marion to shine in, but which would be too "soft" (artistic) for the Oscars. I think it will make money, given her reviews, and the fun she seemed to be having on-set. This will just be a nice addition to her resume and another indication that she is good always, in any role, any genre.

I think the Oscar might go to Huppert or Negga, depending on how brave the Academy voters are in the face of Trumpland. And never underestimate Viola Davis, this year in FENCES for which she and Denzel won Tonys when they did it on Broadway.

I think RT reviews are decent really. 6.6/10 is ok, it could be much worse. This seems a hit with average reviews, it wouldn't be the first one really. In France they expect at least a million entries and that's pretty awesome.

I'm rooting for Huppert to be nominated. She's campaigning and she deserves it. This year is tough though, anything can happen over there. Only Portman and Stone ae locks right now.
