Rebecca Ferguson says she asked for “Idiot” co-star to be replaced with a tennis ball after they “Screamed” at her

Rebecca Ferguson has revealed how she confronted an unnamed co-star and demanded that they be removed from a film after the individual “screamed” at her.

In an interview with the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, the Dune: Part Two actress recalled how she found her voice in challenging her “absolute idiot” co-star and has not been bullied since.

Ferguson did not reveal the identity of the actor, nor did she gender the individual. She did confirm, however, that it was not Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise, who she starred alongside in The Greatest Showman and Mission Impossible respectively.

Ferguson said: “I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out.

“And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at. But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set.”

Rebecca recalled how the person would say things to her like, “You call yourself an actor?” and “This is what I have to work with?”, in front of the film’s crew. “I stood there just breaking,” she remembered.

Ferguson said she resolved to challenge her co-star the next day, telling the individual to “get off my set.” She recalled being “so scared” of the confrontation.

“I looked at this person and I said, ‘You can F off. I’m gonna work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again.’ And then I remember the producers came up and said, ‘You can’t do this to number one. We have to let this person be on set.'”

Ferguson said she requested to act to the back of her co-star’s head. “And I did,” she said. “I thought it shouldn’t have to be that way. And I remember going to the director afterward and saying, ‘What is happening?’

“The director said, ‘You’re right. I am not taking care of everyone else. I’m trying to fluff this person because it’s so unstable.’ And it was great from that moment but it took so long for me to get to that.”

The person is Dwayne Johnson.

reply

Could well be. Fairly short list of big talent she worked with them early years.

reply

Dwayne Johnson is my number 2 choice after Hugh Grant.

I wish some crew member who witnessed it - would go to tabloids and anonymously rat out that actor. We deserve it. Its' gossip gold. The most funny thing is that she didn't work that much with a-listers so list is not that big.

People should press Dwayne Johnson publicly. So he can come out and say it wasn't him. Because he loves his image too much. Then we can eliminate him out.

reply

This is her filmography. She didn't do that many movies so it's easier to pick

If this was an A-lister them my pick would be Hugh Grant from Florence Foster Jenkins. She says "because this person couldn’t get the scenes out". And Hugh Grant is not a good actor to have his scenes easy go.

It couldn't be someone like Meryl Streep because those are good actors. Some people think it could be Fassbender for The Snowman. But it's only because they don't like him. I don't see it being him since he is good actor and would not struggle doing his scene.

I could actually see Dwayne Johnson from Hercules behave like that. But I don't know. People like him watch out for their public image too much. Hard to believe he would snap like that publicly knowing crew may call tabloids to rat him out.

Hugh Grant is the totally that grumpy a-hole who could behave like that.

I could actually see Jeremy Renner doing that. He is grumpy too.

reply

It's not Hugh Grant, because she said "the person is number one on the call sheet." Meryl Streep is number one on the movie.

reply

Who knows. For me it seems like this is her way to say: "This person is famous movie star. He/she was way above me in power play".

She couldn't say: "He was second lead in my movie".

That person was Star and she wasn't. Despite his mega-star young hunk days behind him - Hugh Grant is still employed and is a star. Specially in UK. He could boss around on set with his attitude and bringing down new actors.

But Dwayne Johnson of course is more salacious choice. Who knows. All those actors are entitled pricks and only pretend to be nice and cool. But then are a-holes behind the scene.

Could be Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Fassbender, Renner, anyone. Could even be Charles Dance for 2016 Despite the Falling Snow. Fresh of his Game of Thrones Tywin Lannister mega fame. He works a lot and has that grumpy attitude. Could totally look down at younger actors.

Dwayne Johnson snaped before:

1. He had argument with Vin Diesel, instead of work it out privately, he go on internet and interviews complaint Vin Diesel for many years. The most funny thing is: Vin Diesel never snap and fight back, he just ignore him. The most pussyest thing I've ever seen is: Dwayne Johnson had the nerve to rejoin Fast franchise, despite he keeps bad mouth Vin Diesel and vow never go back to the franchise. It's a big no no in Hollywood, every project has problems, but you should never make it public.

2. When Black Adam didn't perform, Warner said the movie loss money for the studio. What did Dwayne Johnson do? He leaked the financial report of the movie to prove the movie make money. That is the biggest no no in Hollywood, actually... I can't think of anyone did this before. Financial report is top secret for company, you shouldn't leak it on internet.

But Dwayne Johnson knows he isn't real actor. Like dude was wrestler. It's 2013 when they had to film Hercules. Would he look down and "school" young actors for not being good enough? He is in no position to school anyone on acting.

And is was directed by a well known pig Brett Ratner. While she make it seem like director was nice and understanding.

And in 2013 Dwayne Johnson was already mega-famous. I don't think his Ego would tolerate her telling him off and he would agree to walk away. He would just fire her. He was way to mega-famous to take orders from unknown actress on his own movie.

Honestly Hugh Grant fits better..

reply

Claiming that something lost money when it made money is illegal.

reply

Because the leak is misleading and false. Which indicate Dwayne Johnson is a very bad person.

First he leak the report, which you shouldn't do, no one has the right to leak the information, not even CEO.

Second he lie on the report, make him look good.

Ok I looked out for that leak. I missed that. It's even more hilarious. They called him out for lying and misleading with that report.

Dwayne Johnson Reportedly Leaked Misleading Black Adam Profits to Press

He is so fragile and obsessed with success that he can't accept that something he did - bombed. When everyone, I'm sure at Warners too told him he ain't superhero and it will not succeed. He looked ridiculous and was too old to play that part. But he was like: " Nope. Can't happen. I'm mega star and so smart and everything I do is gold and profitable. It will be fine".

SO he forced himself on that role. And then movie came and no one cared, it flopped. But his ego could not accept that and he was running around screaming at the sky that: "Look, it did not flop. It has a profit of 100 dollars. It's aint much but it did not Flop. I can't have flops. I"m not a flopper. It's impossible".

Movie that cost $195M to make and P&A spend between $80M-$100M = 300 millions. And made of $390M worldwide.

That's a flop no matter how he tries to spin it. It made $168 home. Those money went to studio. It made $222m overseas. Those money don't go all to studio. Thy would be lucky if even half of that would come. Theaters in other countries take 50% for themselves.

So best case scenario - studio received 270 millions from grosses. After spending 300 millions on making and promoting. But it was probably bigger.

I always wonder why people love Dwayne Johnson, he done some childish things for a grown up.

1. Complaint co-star on internet and interviews? What a child. For comparison Jimmy Fallon(or Jimmy Kimmel, I don't remember which) once asked Keanu Reeves: which movie you had the most horrible experience? He reply: "You know I can't talk about it." In Hollywood every project has problems, but the bottom line is: you shouldn't make it public.

2. After many years of vow not to return to F&F and bad mouth Vin Diesel, he still return to F&F. I wonder did he still has balls or not? I admire Vin Diesel willing to work with this pussy again.

3. Leak fake financial report.

reply

Why would anyone want to shout at her?

reply

Because celebrities are entitled a-holes. The more famous they are - the more entitled they are.

There are lots of them who play nice persona in interviews and people think they know them. But its all an act and behind closed door they are monsters. MeToo showed it perfectly.

And when actor is "kissed by critics and awards" - their ego is even worse. They start thinking they are big deal and so talented. And then see young actor and when they don't like how they act - they start lashing out and be like: "Can someone bring me real actor? Do you call this acting? I can't work with that one. Take it away"

And that's what happened to her. They stay quiet because they don't want to lose a job and career. But when they actually make it years later - they speak up about those a-holes who were bringing them down.

Claire Foy recently spoke about that too. That some director lashed out at her years ago saying "Start acting" when she actually was already acting.
