He is too serious for the Marvel action comedy style.

And I doubt he is willing to endure the creative control of Marvel executives.

Overly serious, no humor, thinks it's some sort of epic masterpiece, edgy for the sake of edginess. I'm sure MCU fanboys will declare it one of the greatest films of all time and it'll rest at #5 on the IMDb Top 250.
