If she was the one dumb enough to fall for Scientology for so many years

...why do WE have to keep hearing about it?

Seriously, she's like a broken record. Every time I see or hear her now, she's just yapping about that.

It's nothing but a nonsense cult - OK, so? We all knew that already.

I'm glad she finally figured it out and got out but, as I said, I feel like she's lecturing everyone who already knew it was a hoax long before she did.

The members aren't to blame If Scientologists are not accountable for their choices, then where do we draw the line? Do all religious idiots get free passes to be stupid ... or is it just the Scientologists? If you are going to "hate the game, not the player," then does that mean Muslims have no individually accountable for their choices to savagely cut off people's heads?

Fortunately, the whole, "Golly shucks, I was just following orders" is not a viable defense. See the Manson family and Nazi war criminals. Most truly believe that what they're doing is for the best of allNo doubt, just like every other person who makes life choices that are influenced by their religion. It's not until years later when they break-up with their religion does the formula change. Regret plus stupidity equals irresponsibility. The flip side of that is that they're fined and punished with corporal punishment for noncompliance And the flip side of this is that there discipline is not legally binding. You have the right to say "No, thanks, screw you" and join the ranks of the thousands of other people who have quit. The cops aren't going to throw you in jail for not following Scientology. Sure, you will be punted out of the church and your family will shun you if you don't comply with their demands, but that's something they have a right to do.
