You should remove that one, JD is Native American ethnically and a member of the American Indian Movement.

You should remove that one, JD is Native American ethnically and a member of the American Indian Movement.

He was adopted into LaDonna Harris's family, LaDonna happens to be the Founder and president of Americans for Indian Opportunity Social activist group. For that adoption, the Comanche Nation recognized Depp as a Native Indian.

The problem still remains, can (adoptees, actors with few drops of Indian blood, or half Indian actors) be able to play the roles of full blooded Indians?

To answer the question above, you have to consider the reverse scenario, hypothetically. Can a half-black half-white actor play the role of Thor? Can a half-Chinese half-white actor (example Jon Foo) play the role of Thor?

According to Hollywood, halfies cannot play the full-blooded white role of Thor. Therefore, why should Johnny Depp or any other half-Indian actors play the roles of full-blooded Indians?

That's the double standard I'm talking about, Hollywood has one set of standards for superhero characters, and a complete set of different standards for minority characters. Anybody with a drop of blood can play full-blooded minority roles, while you have to be full white to play superhero roles like Thor.

Damn nice list bro! I made one of these awhile back, I'll add some more when I can. Here's a couple for starters the first being an ultimate diss since the casting person is supposed to be Lucy Liu's biological father at the request of Miss Liu herself!

(Asian) Mr. Munday in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" (2003), Portrayed by: John Cleese
(Japanese) Hiro Uyemoto in "Samurai Girl" (2008), Portrayed by: Brendan Fehr

Thanks

MRod is incompetent and ignorant, she said minorities are lazy and cannot create better characters. What she does not realize is that whenever there are significant minority characters created, like the lists above, the roles were stolen to be whitewashed.

Ms. Scarlett Johansson may be racist, this will be her 3rd role that's anti-asians. "Ghost in the Shell" (2017) Scarlett Johansson steals another role from a Japanese actress, the character "Major Motoko Kusanagi" is from the original "Ghost in the Shell" animation in 1995.

I agree. I honestly don't get this lady. The characters written for minorities including her goofy butt are stereotyped, marginalized for Whites or straight up token garbage roles.

I'm actually a huge Rooney Mara fan myself. She is a great talent and to a much lesser extent 'Scarjo'. However ever since she took on the role of a Native American chick I've come to the gross realization that none of these Hollywood types give a flying fudge about minorities no matter how liberal they try to come off as. Johnny Depp and his 1/164th Native American ancestry went ahead and played Tonto despite initial disapproval(sellout). I mean its their magazine cover face, livelihood and bags of cash hanging in the balance so do we honestly expect them to care even the least bit. Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor laughably went on and on about how the 2004 tsunami victims were mostly non-southeast Asian white tourists for crying out loud.

Johnny Depp claims Native ancestry just like a lot of people but no native americans show up in his recorded family tree. He is however descended from an african female slave. Something he never seems to bring up.

This makes her racist because she went for a role? I don't think so. But women in the industry don't have it so easily either. Not nearly as bad as minorities but ya know

Yes, she has a history of taking anti-Asian roles, from Lost in Translation, to Lucy, to Ghost in the Shell. GitS is not an anti-Asian movie, but it's a whitewashed role stolen from an Asian actress.

Women have it hard, but ScarJo is no ordinary woman. She's an A-List top tier actress who's rich and powerful enough to call her own shots. If she doesn't want to take racist roles, she's not going to go poor. She keeps taking these anti-Asian roles because she enjoys humiliating and dehumanizing Asian people.

Hollywood's whitewashing only casts white men and white women, white women don't have it as easy as white men, but white women are second to the top of the list for getting casted in prominent leading roles. From minority women's perspectives, white women have it good.
