So we know one parent's religion and the other's ethnicity.

I wish people would stop confusing religions with ethnicities. Lisa Bonet, Sammy Davis, Jr., Yaphet Kotto, Jordan Farmar, and rabbis Capers Funnye and Alysa Stanton are all Jewish...and African-American.

It was probably that the person was raised Jewish but for whatever reason doesn't believe in God. However, Judaism really is not an ethnicity, but it is an issue where it is continually thought as such.
