‘The Chronology Of Water’: Kristen Stewart Threatens To Stop Acting Until She Gets Funding For Her Directorial Debut

Kristen Stewart has a busy 2024 ahead of her with two films ready to premiere at Sundance, the lesbian crime thriller “Love Lies Bleeding” and the sci-fi romance “Love Me.” And she also has “Sacramento,” a road trip comedy on the way later this year, too. But Stewart may put off doing any other acting gigs until she gets the funding to make her directorial debut, “The Chronology Of Water.” In fact, that’s what she’s threatened to do in a new cover story for Variety. If Stewart can’t make the film, which she first announced at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018, she’ll quit acting altogether.

“I’m going to make this movie before I ever work for someone else,” she told Variety, laughing nervously. “Yeah, I will quit the f*cking business. I won’t make a-f*cking-nother movie until I make this movie. I will tell you that, for sure. I think that will get things going.” Despite five years of development, Imogeen Poots attached to star, and Ridley Scott producing through his Scott Free banner, Stewart still hasn’t gotten the backing she needs to film “The Chronology Of Water.” It’s a strange case considering Stewart’s global appeal and success in indie cinema over the past decade-plus. Acquiring backing for the film has proved “near impossible,” stated the actress. “The current climate is a real, capital N ‘No’ for anything that has not been proven already.”

We can only pray.

I mean she can finance it herself. It would cost few millions. She has them. But those entitled actors always want someone else to finance their vanity projects and then lose their money.

I'm actually stunned that someone still employed her and finances her movies. Despite them never make any money at all and all her movies lose money to studios that finance them. Because she has no starpower and no one is gonna go to see her. And she always wants to play lead. That means carry movie. And they are simply unwatchable. Some boring depressin nonsense.

She tried to go at box-office and made Underwater and Charlies Angels. Who both flopped so hard.

How she finds rich idiots who will put money in her another indie low budget crap is beyond me. And considering the budgets she is payed like 100K for them. And lives from her Twlilight residuals and advertisement money.

For the past decade, I've been absolutely baffled by Kristen Stewart's inexplicable career. For whatever reason she was handed the Twilight franchise. A role that a thousand other young actresses could have played even better & somehow she's been riding that wave ever since. Hollywood seemed determined to keep her relevant, so she continued receiving a steady stream of high-profile starring roles for over a solid decade, despite almost all of it flopping. Why? Nepotism? I've never heard of her being related to anyone of influence & even nepo kids only get pushed so much for so long if everything they do fails to have an impact, which just makes Stewart's case all the more baffling. There's no way the casting couch could explain it either because that alone doesn't get anywhere near what Stewart has gotten. Her entire career has been gift wrapped & unearned.

Well they completely gave up on her money wise. They knew she has no box-office draw after Snow White and the Huntsman basically flopping with getting 155 millions on a 170 millions budget and + promotion.

They saw she can't lead expensive movies. Because she has no viewers support. So they started hiring her in very small budget movies who they they try to push into festivals and awards season. Like every movie she makes. They are like: "Well maybe this one will do it. No? Maybe this one? No? Here is another one".

And finally they did managed to push her with that Diana cosplay. Because Hollywood nominates every actor playing dead celebrity it seems. Every freaking Diana actor get awards recognition. TV or movies wise.

She tried to return to moderate-budgets movies. With Charlie's Angels and Underwater. And failed again. Both has budgets around 50 millions and could not get back even that.

So she returned to low budget boring crap again. She would be long forgotten if it wasn't for Hollywood press who pushes every her boring indie movie into spotlight. They keep hyping it and take interviews. So it feels she is into everyone throats all the time.
