thats one way to deal with missing out on black widow lol

she has a point tho.. theres way too many now esp with the stream shows.. maybe ppl will get bored soon and they'll go back to being an occasional thing like they were 78-08..or maybe they wont and they'll get even bigger.. either way she may as well accept Sue Storm if its offered to her (and her husband as Reed Richards) as Fan 4 will undoubtedly be a big deal in the MCU (unlike the previous F4 movies)

reply

I agree with her. I’m sick of them too.

reply

She’s not wrong.

I said this back in 2012

YOU WERE WRONG THEN AND YOU ARE WRONG NOW.🙂

reply

you are stupid

reply

STUPID?...MAYBE....WRONG?...NOPE.🙂

reply

If only she were right

Unfortunately the studios will keep milking this teat as long as the lemmings are drinking it.

reply

Don't know her motive for saying that (maybe she really believes it) but she is 100% right. They have done it to death.

reply

To each their own.

reply

She's right.

reply

Which is a pity, bet she would have been good as a superhero.

reply

It is. I’ve always enjoyed her work, and she is a very good comic actress, which, with the right script, can give a real boost to a super character. I agree with Blunt. I have think the genre has been tantamount to squeezed dry. I don’t think the hardcore comic book fans are willing to admit that, because they don’t want it to be true. Added to that, the movie business is pell-mell rewriting its business model in the wake of COVID-19, and the model that will make it the most money has yet to emerge. Black Widow had the biggest second-week drop of ANY Marvel film. I’ll be watching Suicide Squad 2 on HBO Max because (1) I’m already paying for HBO Max and (2) I haven’t set a foot in a movie theater in a long time, primarily because standards of public behavior are sub-human, and, secondarily, I design custom home theater systems, sales of which have been steadily rising for 20 years.

I always liked the idea of a movie room - perhaps when I win the lottery.

So that's why she made Jungle Cruise? Hey, that's some fresh ground ! (sarcasm alert)

reply

its basically pirates of the Caribbean but the Rock is the new captain...

reply

Meanwhile there are endless rumors her husband is to be Mr. Fantastic in Marvel’s reboot of Fantastic Four.

reply

A jungle river adventure is far rarer than a superhero flick these days.

FRANCHISE STARTER FROM DISNEY BASED ON ONE OF THEIR ATTRACTIONS AND FEATURING A LARGER THAN LIFE ACTOR....COMMON.

reply

That's an easy remark to make, but I have had the misfortune to be attending a lot of kiddie fare lately, so I see Jungle Cruise and I think of Jumanji 2 and the various Jurassic Park films. Plus the whole PG action premise is very familiar so even if the costumes are different and the settings vary, for me the pacing and the direction are all too similar. Characters cracking wise in tough situations, who will prevail is never in question. It's all the same formula.

I completely agree, but Jumanji 2 came out in 2017 and the last Jurassic film in 2018. In other words, it's not like there's a glut of these kinds of movies the way there is with superhero flicks. Meanwhile, everyone knows the same basic formula is used in different genres wherein only the paraphernalia changes. For instance, Star Wars is basically a Western in outer space. That's why when a film -- whatever the genre -- breaks from formula in a compelling way there's a 'Wow' reaction in the audience, like "Watchmen" (superhero) or "Pulp Fiction" (crime drama/thriller). Of course, the very fact that they break convention means that many people will not appreciate them.
