One of the worst directors of all time.

Enjoy your fame, enjoy your money, good for you, you are still a talentless charlatan hack. It's funny because directors like him, who are almost any director working today, eschew the most basic rules of cinema, not because they are rebels but because they truly do not get it. It's astonishing that they've managed to succeed. Just look at how awful this scene is directed:

Or what about this scene where he uses exposition in the climatic moment because he had no idea how to convey the information otherwise:

Sad that this is what stands for filmmaking nowadays.

Meh, he's ok. He makes fairly watchable movies. I do think he's extremely overrated though, I've grown tired of watching the same movie again over and over with only slight changes.

reply

he's more overrated than bad (those scenes are really bad, but the movies as passable overall)... It's sadder that there aren't better popular horror directors active today... Very low level of craft...

I prefer Eli Roth, but he hasn't had a fraction of Wan's success and popularity...

reply

I totally disagree. He is nowhere near one of the worst directors. He is a pretty good director.

reply

Yes, he is dogshit.
But that is what studios want now, dogshit directors for dogshit "properties", it's not cinema anymore, just dogshit business.

reply

Aquaman and The Conjuring are both good, enjoyable films. I've also heard good things about Death Sentence.

Directing a movie is very difficult. Perhaps you should try it before being so critical.
