Why did she flop after Black Velvet?

A beautiful singer with a great voice and stunning look, but for some reason she never had a big hit outside of Canada after Black Velvet.

In Canada her fame remained with top ten hits and another number one but in the UK and US she seemed to be a one hit wonder, which is a shame, her debut album (which was also a top ten hit in the UK and US) was pretty decent too.

Faith Hill and Shania Twain

Both had early success in country and worldwide fame a little later, and in Shania’s case almost ten years later, I wouldn’t point those two as to why Alannah failed to break the US market.
