Evidently, these are the only qualifications necessary to be a democratic VP. Good for her for not being afraid to except the role based in on her race and gender alone.

She also comes from a family that made its money from owning a large number of slaves.

Just one problem: she doesn't qualify as a true African American. Her mother is Indian, and her dad is Jamaican, which doesn't count as "black" in black America. So she can push the idea that she's a POC all she wants, but she's not gonna fool anybody who really is African American that she's one of them.
