Snopes went to the source and actually spoke to the individuals in charge at the shelter. The reporter who wrote the initial story has since retracted it saying she was "forced to write it."

I also say yes because snopes doesn't just fact check American politics. From what I know, and I honestly haven't checked beyond 2 sources, one of the owners of Snopes cannot vote in American elections as they are Canadian.
I've also read snopes fact checking left wing stories.

I'm not saying that Snopes is perfect. I'm saying that they aren't very biased. You keep sending me links from right wing sites who have been fact checked by Snopes. I'm looking for neutral sites. Media from sites that agree with everything that you believe, probably aren't the most reliable no matter where on the spectrum you fall. I think that Snopes is a little more reliable as I've seen them cover things from all sides of the spectrum. If they are in fact no longer neutral, that's fine, I want to find something that is.
Also, in Canada, our most right wing parties are still to the left of American Democrats. So yeah, in the eyes of Americans, us Canadians are pretty liberal. I just meant that they couldn't vote.
