SHUT. UP.

This guys is nauseating. It's been nothing but complaints since he joined the MCU. Now this:

"For his upcoming appearance at Awesome Con in June, the actor stood up for himself by making it clear he will not be signing any comic book with the subtitle "Master of Kung Fu."

"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu critiques Arthur Harrow's attempt at Mandarin in Disney+'s Moon Knight."

I think he's a bit of a jerk, but I don't really understand the criticism here.

If he doesn't want to sign anything that he deems offensive, he doesn't have to. If he is only going to sign in English, why is that an issue?

As for complaining about how someone speaks another language, that happens all the time. Not even to mention the backlash on accents that happens. I didn't think that he was blaming Hawke, he was blaming the studio for not providing proper instruction.

reply

The phrase "Master of Kung Fu" isn't offensive. If he's offended by the character, don't fucking play him.

I don't give a fuck who he is blaming. Hawke, the studio, it's irrelevant. SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. An American learned Mandarian for a role and this prick is playing grammar nazi? Fuck off.

From the site you shared

"Alright Arthur Harrow needs to fire his Mandarin teacher."
That is what Simi tweeted

Also from what you've shared

Where Harrow's disciple can be heard saying (roughly translated from Mandarin), "You're still a loser," many Mandarin speakers found Harrow's lines incomprehensible, with some criticizing Marvel Studios, which notably produced Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, for seemingly being unable to provide Hawke with corrections or guidance regarding his pronunciation and tones. There are other significant grammatical errors present in the dialogue.

Lot's of people, on this site, on twitter, all over the place, bash those who try american accents, english accents, accents from all over if it is their accent. No one seems to have an issue with that. So when an actor complains that the actual words spoken weren't correct, you have an issue with that?

I think you just don't really like the actor, which is fine, he is unlikeable, and are just wanting to complain about stuff. That's fine too, that's your right. I just don't think that anything that he's said here is worth the hatred your are flinging his way.

I think he's a bit of a jerk,

Glad someone else sees it. I was cool with him before he signed onto the Marvel films. Since then he's let fame get to his head.

reply

He's an embarrassment to the Asian community
