A hero?

maybe dropping out was the right thing for her. I don't know. But why does that make her a hero???

It's so stunning and brave.

like a butterfly flying against the wind

Like a beacon in a storm, shining against the darkness.

Like the nurses aid wiping Joe Biden's butt

I’m sure if Michael Phelps had done the same thing that he also would have been hailed for his bravery.

reply

People would have ridiculed Michael Phelps big time.

reply

She's got nothing to prove.

reply

She hasnt proved anything. Even her golds are a fraud.

reply

This generation LOVES losers. People who drop out and quit make them more comfortable with their own "mom's basement, Twitter and Xbox" lifestyles. A major public figure who quits is a hero to them because it lowers their own shame in failing at life.

reply

A hero is someone who risks their life for another.

reply

What’s sad is she going to live the rest of her life regretting it. Never having another opportunity rise up and overcome adversity.

reply

I'm not that sure. She got far more praise than she would have had she overcome adversity and won. Nowadays, there's no much social incentive for fighting hard to overcome adversity.

reply

Agreed being a loser is praised and encouraged by the democrat party/media. Their leaders are unaccomplished and thus they encourage the same for their lemmings.

But she’s been to the top. She’s won the gold. She’s not cut from that mold of unaccomplished losers. She’s gotta look at herself in the mirror for the rest of her life and wonder what if. Surprised there wasn’t a coach who could get her out of the funk.

reply

Yeah, I know what you mean. But consider her field.

If you're a runner, you just need to be there and run. No matter you're depressed, no matter you're having an anxiety attack, you just need to blank your mind for a moment and think: just do it, run. If you've trained hard, your body will respond and the adrenaline will do the rest. I'd say the majority of Olympic sports are like that.

However, if you're an artistic gymnast, you need to have your mind working at 100%. You can't play with your foot off the pedal.

reply

I think she's only 24 and I'm assuming it's only 3 years to the next Olympics - she could well be competing again. There are also World Championship competitions. It ain't over 'till it's over.

reply

Agreed. This man was at a point where he thought he'd never run again. He's now the one to watch in this Olympics. That's what the games are about, great comeback from behind stories like his.

The men who stormed the beaches at Normandy didn't have half the courage of Biles. She is a once in a generation hero.
