Egyptian experts want her Cleopatra series banned

When the trailer for the docudrama series Queen Cleopatra, with Adele James in the lead, dropped, it caused outrage in Egypt. Variety reported in April 2023 that Egyptian academics claimed Cleopatra was of European descent and not Black.

Zahi Hawass, a prominent Egyptologist, was quoted by the al-Masry al-Youm newspaper as strongly disputing the possibility that Cleopatra was of mixed race. "This is completely fake. Cleopatra was Greek, meaning that she was light-skinned, not Black.”

An Egyptian lawyer filed a complaint demanding that legal measures be taken to block Netflix from airing the series in Egypt citing the docudrama violates the country's media laws.

Hard to argue. I’d think Egyptian scholars would know more about Cleo’s heritage than producer Jada Pinkett Smith or anyone else involved in that fanfic fantasy series.

Yeah, talk about cultural appropriation. The black community is committing the very "sin" they claim white people do, and then lying about their heritage to they have something to actually be proud of. They are obsessed with non-African royalty of all kinds, despite the fact that their own people had kings and queens in sub-Saharan Africa that they could easily tell stories about (and I'm not referring to the Dahomey Tribe either).

I honestly think nothing would please them more than to have a culture where they're in charge and all the white people are slaves that they can kick around and have their revenge on.

Cultural appropriation is by white people. Actually, it's white supremacy and racism. BTW, Black people live throughout Africa.

Ancient Greek historian:
Herodotus described the Egyptians – quite like the Colchians – as melánchroes (μελάγχροες, "dark-skinned") and curly-haired. He also gives the possibly first reference to the common Greek name of the tribes living south of Egypt, otherwise known as Nubians, which was Aithíopes (Αἰθίοπες, "burned-faced"). Later Xenophanes of Colophon described the Aethiopians as black and snub-nosed and the Thracians as having red hair and blue eyes. In his description of the Scythians, Hippocrates states that the cold weather "burns their white skin and turns it ruddy."

BTW, Jesus wasn't white nor Christian. And 1/3 cowboys were black or Mexican.

Learn correct history! Not the white supremacist nonsense you find in Tarzan movies and John Wayne films.

I think Jada's a little confused from being smashed by that rapper...

And god knows what else. She probably had her lips around two pipes that night

Honestly, I can't think if anything that I would seek out Jada Pinkett Smith's opinions on.

Zahi Hawass is an opportunist who made political connections to monopolize the industry in order to financially enrich himself. He's a racist, anti-Semite and misogynist. Most historians and Egyptologists despise him.

The tomb and skeleton of Cleopatra's sister were discovered. Her skeleton appeared to be racially-mixed with black (Nubian and/or Egyptian) and Macedonian ancestry.

News flash! Egypt is in Africa. No matter how hard you try, you can't change geography.
