Best silent ever?

Sunrise and Passion of Joan of Arc are most often named the best silent films ever. What other silent films do you think could claim the crown?

In addition to "Sunrise", Here are a few suggestions for the Top Ten List of Silent films:
"He Who Gets Slapped"
"Way Down East"
"The Wind"
"Wings"
"The Crowd"
"Intolerance"
"Voyage dans la Lune"
"Metropolis"
"The Gold Rush"

I think that Metropolis is the best, and Safety Last the second best.

Am I the first to say Man With a Movie Camera? Such an incredible picture. That would be second only to The General for my favorite silent film.

But Sunrise is incredible as well, and it would be my third favorite silent. Probably.

Oh, and someone latter on said The Big Parade. That flick rocks. Hard.

"Wings" (1927) has been mentioned before, and so I wasn't going to say anything, but I decided it wasn't getting enough respect!

Wings, Ben-Hur and Harold Lloyd's Speedy, The Freshman and Safety Last!

Metropolis and The General obviously. Sunrise is great, but not the best of what silent cinema has to offer.

Well, there is no better silent film than Sunrise.

Other movies that come close would be City Light, Metropolis, Greed, Pandora's Box, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The General, Intolerance, Blancanieves, and The Phantom Carriage.
